    An extremely simple change to "fix" Rez in CC (Rez taking longer than intended)

    We've all been there. Get ganked and have 10 -20s on our rez timer.

    Then afterward it takes 2-3 seconds to port us to the starting area and another 3 to go through the raise animation.

    It doesn't need to be this way and it shouldn't. Replace what is currently with a much more simple efficient system:

    Upon death, you instantly get a debuff that starts ticking down equal to what your rez timer would normally be. "Down for the count". You are instantly ported to the start area and while said debuff is active you cannot move or act.

    Debuff goes away and you go on your merry murdering way.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Send a bug report saying that rez timer says 11 seconds, but with respawn animation and black screen delay it takes longer than that. See what they say.

    I'd argue the black screen and revive animation are part of the timer by choice or they would have made it instant but on a 15s timer. I'm fine with it.

    What I'm not so fine with is why it takes 1m30s for a match to start instead of 30s. Show all portraits on the same screen and reduce the timer to 20s please!

    Why u say is longer than intended? Why do you think the devs did not take into account the rez animation time into what they consider the proper time to rez?

    So what will be the difference if the rez is instant and they increase the time to 16 seconds?

    If I could only have one change to the Resurrection mechanic, it would be for the res to cancel if I'm dead when the match ends.
    Nothing makes a frustrating loss more infuriating than trying to leave the match and having the screen slam to black while your position resets.

    I think they didn't test it properly and think through actual real world scenarios like they've done numerous times in the past.

    One is honest, you know what to expect and one isn't. If you have a 10s rez timer you should have a 10s rez timer to get back in the fight, not a 15s total time.

    The animations are fine, the actual timer just needs to be adjusted to account for it.

    I mean, it probably was, but it doesn't mean its good. The count down to respawn definitely needs to be shorter given how fast you can move the crystal. Its too easy to blast away with LB's doing a team wipe and then casually push the crystal to the other side of the map before anyone even respawns. Makes me wish the mode was more like a capture point instead of a cart pushing type mode.
