What do you think should be the winrate to proceed in ranking?

    Serious question:
What do you think should be the winrate to proceed in ranking?

Before someone says: "Duh.. if you deserve to rank up you'll do eventually.. duh".. i know and i can relate somehow.. but still.. I am not familiar with pvp in other games.. so.. your opinion?

I'll be totally honest and of course i am doing this post to vent "a bit" but still really wanna know about it:
Did 22 matches straight in diamond and i won half of them so eleven. Where am i? exactly where i started cause "this time" i did not have a streak.
I am not overly complainig cause i got a really lucky one in plat and i know if i continue to play i'll eventually finally get to cristal.. but i still wonder if something should be changed in how people get those bonus stars. I can't help but be a bit discouraged, what will happen if i continue to alternate wins and losses? is 50% in diamond still a win rate so low to not deserve to advance?

What "should" be the winrate to rank up? Anything north of 50%.
This is the first PvP ranking system I've seen where you can climb straight to the highest tier with a sub-50% winrate.
Between the bonus stars for streaks and the inability to derank out of a tier, the kid's gloves are on until you get to Crystal.
Crystal Credit behaves more like traditional MMR.

the streak stars and checkpoints are actually there to make it less disheartening.
a "solo" ranking based on matches with 9 random people is kind of doomed to just be a weird luck-o-meter

only thing they could really do is have a negative streak where it slows down losses, It's not like it really matters anyways. It's literally just bang your head against a wall until you get 6 in a row and if some random teammate decides they want to just not help at all... well, it's your fault for playing with them

ehhh... The #1 ranked Crystal player still get matched with platinum tier players. So the kids glove is on full time 100%

Kid's gloves in the sense that streak bonuses and de-rank protection artificially push you upward, even if your win rate is somewhat negative.
Once you're in Crystal, if you can't push your win rate above 50%, you won't make any progress with Crystal Credit, ever.
The topic wasn't about matchmaking quality, so that's not what I was addressing.
While Crystal Credit features weighted gains and losses like MMR, the banding for the actual matchmaking is so loose it may as well not exist.
