Cheaters in the high tier
Then it became, cheaters in low tier, keep blaming cheaters for every single loss, and now we got people saying cheaters in casuals, like if there wasn’t a more complete waste of time and effort to cheat in casuals, we have now convinced every person that if they lose, it’s because cheaters here, cheaters there, cheaters in the mountains, and cheaters in the caves.
Like seriously get real with yourself.

Are there millions of them lurking in every corner waiting to ruin your pointless, meaningless, unranked, casual match? No. No they are not.

“Well, there’s proof of it because I got demolished in 0.014 seconds” no, that’s not proof. Never will be proof, and can’t be proof, time is not proof of cheating. There are many factors from individual pings, server ticks, client hiccups, I’ve been called a cheater for killing someone with a DoT that they didn’t recognize until it was pointed out to them.
But we’ve brainwashed every person that if they died whatsoever then it MUST MUST be the Eviiielil cheaters!!!!!

The forums should be about tactics, feedback, and improvements, and instead “I didn’t win so this sucks” or “everyone but me is a cheater because I keep losing” or <insert generic X sucks because I don’t get Y> claim here.

So yes we’ve established you might run into a cheater, can you prove they’re cheating? No.
The most likely thing you’re going to encounter is a booster. Which is a form of “cheating” but not hardcore haxxxzorz out to ruin your rankless games.
Can we please try not to cry wolf? All were doing is sabotaging a game mode that someone worked on by badmouthing and labeling everyone who did play fair and plays for a fun a blatant cheater.

Kinda hard to have tactics when you can't chat in-game. You ever wonder where that toxicity goes if you ban it from the game? Now you know, SE deserves this, they need to learn that when people get tilted you can't just delete their anger, they need a place to vent.

It also doesn't help that lots of classes are very imbalanced and many things don't even work properly like purify. This will calm down once they start to fix the issues. Hopefully they return chat to PvP so we can strategize instead of pinging uselessly.

Pretty much all the other subforums have conspiracy theorist-level saws like this. Gen Discussion has the 'freak out about the Endwalker story' threads that have constructed a great mythos about why the critically acclaimed Endwalker story sucks actually, Housing believes every house they don't own belongs to either people with 17 accounts or RMT farmers or both simultaneously, Dungeons is currently complaining about the most interesting dungeon we've had in a while.. so on and so forth.

If you want sensible and well-reasoned discussion, I highly recommend, like, anything else. Treat this place more like misery tourism.

People do have a tendency to blow things out of proportion, but the complaints aren't baseless.

Endwalker's story in particular was not spotless when several of the post-release interviews were basically doing damage control by having to explain things that should've been obvious within the story itself.

I'm also not sure what other platforms are actually conducive to productive discussion because Reddit is largely just memes and fanart with the occasional actual point of discussion that tends to simply get mass up/downvoted by the echo chamber...and let's not even get into Twitter.

Same here. I'm sure it's because CC and the new job actions are still new. Lack of knowledge and understanding make people call cheats too much. Wintrading is most likely the only true cheating going on.

Some people definitely do jump the gun and cry foul a bit too readily, but it's really not very difficult to verify that there are both subtle and obvious methods of cheating being actively exploited by people.

I've only encountered one hacker and two likely instances of auto-CC scripts out of maybe...60ish matches, personally.

I mean there's definitely cheaters out there. I've seen some twitch clips of people speed hacking, but I haven't come across it yet and I play quite a bit so I don't think its as rampant as people make it out to be.

Look at these cheaters / script kiddies trying to down play the problem like there are not "bad" cheaters. Cheats of any kind will improve a persons play. Just because it is not blatantly obvious does not mean they are not cheating.
