When being in it is less enjoyable than being on your own![]()

Nobody in your FC has the right to be upset or say something about your decision. You pay for your game, you play your game the way YOU want. To be polite, the way I did it, I used to write the FC leader (whom I had befriended) and an fc member I was close with (or you could use discord) to announce you are unfortunately parting ways due to scheduling conflicts. Nobody should be upset, and would they be, it means they care a lot about you, but by that, they should respect your wishes. Would they become hostile, report it or at least know when you leave, you made the right choice. The fact you concern yourself over this, I personally, would've adored you for having considered writing a polite notice that you have to take leave from the company. Many do not, they simply leave without a word. I wish you the best of luck!!
Ask yourself this;
What am I seeking out of an FC? Are you looking for a social one?
Experiences varies greatly from individuals & don’t discourage yourself from showing adamancy about FCs in general regardless anyone’s point of view.
I will tell you this though…FCs may be a source of community, social interaction & deliver profound wonders for whatever that FCs motto/goals/self proclaim approaches are,
In my experience I’ve stopped joining FCs seeing how easily drama ensues, clique-culture, reinforcing some unusual aspects which shouldn’t be & ultimately you’ll get a sense of who your real in-game friends are vs. FC friends.
I no longer buy the coin term “Social friendly, LGBTQ+, Static, family, casual” that’s so common to see in shouts…to me it’s all the same bullshit, and quite often contradicting.
Just trust your own judgement & don’t let FC boundaries make you feel like an outcast, rather be open to anyone for friendship regardless of affiliation. Trust me, your gaming experience is worth more & cannot be bargained nor taken away except you discarding it away.
PS: If you’re seeking for static try the party finders, they’re all individuals from different FCs & still perform as much

Finding a FC thats a good fit for you is always tough. I have gone thru 3, First one pretty much disbanded after ARR-partway thru HW on Famfrit, Second one became toxic (also Famfrit), Created an alt character on Hyperion and joined my now current FC which ended up being a good move as they are flexible on when people want to do things (We use Discord to schedule events and such). The real bonus to my current FC (Mystic Phoenix) was that when I joined, unbeknownst to me, another member was actually a friend from another game I played years and years ago and reconnected with him in the FC.
Remember when joining a FC, though you may feel like an outsider sometimes you just need to speak up and get to know the people in your FC, if when talking with them you find they don't really "Fit" you you can always look for another FC, but just to stay cordial, I would thank them for having you before leaving, unless it was one of those FC that just randomly invites you out of the blue, no conversation, just trying to fill their roster. I would either apply to one, or wait for someone to actually approach you and actually speak with you, not just send you a random invite, which was the case with my FC, they spoke to me and after a brief conversation i joined them.. Best move I made, though costly as I did have to pay to transfer my character from Famfrit to Hyperion, but it was worth it for this FC.
"Nose to the wind, I go."
When you feel like a number and not like a person enjoying the game.I joined a FC a couple weeks ago when I transferred to Hyperion. Sadly my schedule doesn't usually meet with any of their events and I can never attend any savage raiding. I am thinking of leaving this FC and go solo until I can find one where meets my time schedule

I joined an FC when I needed the buffs they provide. When I got leveled up enough I made crafters/gatherers and when the buffs they provided didn't match what I needed I made my own FC and I am sure glad I did. My new Fc lost to a zero but was the only bid on a mansion. Quitting my Fc enabled me to get into position to get my own mansion.I joined a FC a couple weeks ago when I transferred to Hyperion. sagacious
