I'm not sure on the specifics, but all I think about it when I hear it is, "How did Thordan even reach Azys Lla then?" The Wandering Minstrel really just be forgetting that the WoL and the Ironworks had to team up to go Sky Whale hunting? Maybe the Ascians killed Bismarck for him?
I don't think the Minstrel thought this through...
Let's not forget the garleans too, and even if Haurchefant survived. I don't see how that stops us from chasing Thordan, as we were already chasing him. It's less mourning and more actions.
But then again, ultimates are not meant to be taken with a lore value.
I can only guess Minstrel is assuming WoL and friends wasted sometime getting Haurchefant to recover from his injuries so they arrived too late to stop Thordan due to that delay.I'm not sure on the specifics, but all I think about it when I hear it is, "How did Thordan even reach Azys Lla then?" Funny enough, we have known for a while most people only know WoL from the crazy stories being told to them from random people and bards. Atleast we know who has been make most of those crazy stories.
Not to mention some of those stories may have WoL's appearance altered to fit the storyteller's narrative which explains why despite WoL being famous, people won't recognize him/her at first due to how crazy the stories are and how some of those stories may have altered WoL's appearance.

That would make sense, if it weren't the WoL who defeated Bismarck so that the Discount Elf Pope could get steal the key to Azys Lla. I wanna see Thordan vs. Bismarck.

I wonder what's the purpose of Bismarck summoning from an ascian point of view. The vanu vanu definitely didn't learn the summoning out of nowhere, especially when it has Azys Lla key in its stomach. How did it get there and why?
I imagine they taught the Vanu Vanu to summon it a long time ago, and then nothing could really stop it. It probably ate an Allagan ruin inside of one of the sky islands, incidentally ingesting the key.

Was Zephrin Based this whole time?
found on main reddit sub
The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
This I can see happening. The whole SB mainplot started because Illberd possessed Nidhogg's eyes, without which the whole SB and Omega questline would not have started, and ShB would play out differently with future Ironworks traveling back in time to save the source without shard-hopping but instead a: "Hey I'm from the future. You got to do X and Y to prevent Z from happening!"
I can see some people starting the meme: "Zephirin saved the universe!" which would be funny tbh xD
Edit: After more thinking... if the main timeline didn't play out as intended. Would we even have a Hydaelyn to begin with?? Venat wouldn't know anything about the future to begin with.
Haurchefant surviving and Nidhogg's eyes have a butterfly's effect on both directions (Onward and reversal)

thats a scary thought. no time travel means no hydaelyn which means the 3rd sacrifice goes through which means we will never exist...... which means meteion eventually wins. This I can see happening. That somehow assumes that we only follow Thordan because of Haurchefants death and not because we knew that we needed to stop him. Or that Thordan would so easily just stop going to Azys Lla and instead go to the dragons. (We after all did not right away go after him either...we still needed to take care of the barrier around Azys Lla)
So no I doubt that this would have changed the story so much.
Also for Hydealyn to exist like she does we needed the time loop. If that one action though destroys that time loop wouldnt it mean that she would not have been here anyway? Thus everything up to that part of the story would have already be different OR we might not even exist at all.
