    What Visual Effects Would You Change?

    Posting in DPS section but feel free to mention other jobs! I'm curious if anyone else has job abilities they'd redesign visually. Whether it's to better match the job's theme, give it more oomph or otherwise.

    Personally I'd like BLM's Flare to be revisited to be flashier. I also hate hate HATE BRD's Rain of Death. Like... they're black spears with weird green and red mist (?). Just make it more like Ladonsbite and I'll be so happy. I also wouldn't mind BRD's other attacks be more musically inclined but that's just me. I also don't understand why WHM's Holy III has reddish orange in its icon. The spell itself is blue and pink, and with the rest of the spells' icons the reddish orange sticks out.

    MNK needs an entire visual overhaul for its basic combo skills, not many of them really sell a cohesive identity for the job outside of martial arts. Outdated attacks like True Strike, Snap Punch or Rockbreaker don't do a good job at conveying MNK as the "speed job" when they're either too slow on their wind up or just don't really look visually interesting period. It's especially bad for Bootshine because while it's not as strong as it used to be in ShB, it's still too potent for how pathetic its VFX is.

    Revise skill flashiness downwards. Less effects, less blinding glare, just some distinct animations so you can actually see what everyone is doing without losing them in the haze.

    You have an option for that in your "Character configuration" You can effectively reduce effect from other people and limit it in order to see just what you need.


    One effect I'd like to change is the Chaotic Thrust and Chaotic Spring from the DRG. The first one look really samuraish if I could say so, will the second one even if it's in the same theme doesn't really match the animation because it's literraly Ala Morn, the Human-Nidhogg Tank Buster. Give us the effect for Ala morn on this one please, it will be so much cooler

    The Samurai Running animation with drawn weapon and the monk sprint animation look stupid and need a redo.

    MCHs heated animations. Blast charge in pvp is so cool and actually feels like a gun move, the heated shots makes mch feel like a weird technomage using the gun as a staff.

    MCH heated shot animation, flips I do not like.
    Heatblast, I find it bland.
    Wildfire. I notice more the weak sound than the animation.
    Chain saw, actually just fire a big rotating saw that cut into the ennemy, not 3 very fast danger pizzas.
    Also MCH "/draw", I really find it stupid how it barely changes from the basic draw animation but also worse. It's slower and find a leg movement that feels like your character is drunk.

    DRK Shadowbringers, too close to Flood of Shadow. Also its main combo really deserves an update...
    WAR main combo deserves an update.
    PLD Expiacion, I find it really weird how the character moves.

    Technically yes, but it's a straight drop from "100% of effects" to "absolutely nothing except ground AOEs you need to know about".

    MNK, one of the most outdated skills job.
    NIN, Mug since SE change the ability, it doesn't fit at all the purpose even Dancing Edge as a replacement would be fine (to me at least).
    DRK, just give us back Power Slash and Dark Arts : )
