For everyone who took the time and made an effort to submit an entry, post your design in this thread and let's all share the fruit of our hard work!

I was really hoping my entry would be among the runners-up (wasn't expecting to win anyway XD) but sadly it didn't make it. I designed the weapon as a sort of a present for my soulmate, who mains AST and whose favorite female FF character is Rinoa. I was hoping my entry would make it and they'd see it, but alas, this was just wishful thinking :') Staying quiet about it for 7 months wasn't easy XD

Obviously when this was submitted, we had seen the new PLD artifact but didn't know what it would be called. I thought using the color scheme of the FFXI version of Lightbringer would be a clever way to reintroduce a recurring series weapon in a new way, taking the moon themes shared by both the upcoming expansion and the abilities in SAM's kit. There's less variety in SAM weapons than I'd prefer and I'm not the only one, so I really thought this design had a shot.

I won't dispute that the two winning entries for SAM are much more polished/refined in presentation than this one. But at the same time I guess I misinterpreted the purpose of this contest, thinking SE would pick designs that offered something new to existing jobs. The winning design for "traditional" SAM weapons just feels like it could be leaked internal concept art for the base form of the 7.0 relic. It's a beautiful sword, but we have many others almost exactly like it. Personally I feel several of the runner-up designs were more creative than the winners, for some jobs.

Please yes! I want to see more amazing weapon designs, everyone did such a good job and all the ones picked were also amazing. I am really excited that they actually are going to add these at some point. I hope they have another contest for this in the future, but oh my gosh so many amazing designs. I was enjoying seeing the really cute designs and pretty designs. I honestly can not express enough how great everyone did! I am going to watch this thread for more beautiful designs.

This was my blue mage submission:



After submitting it and reflecting on it, I figured it had too much detail going on. I wanted it to be a sort of "monster-mash", so maybe there were too many ideas bulked together too. Wasn't expecting anything since drawing isn't my thing anymore, and it was an easy concept + execution finished in about an hour - it was a really fun experience!
