BUT, the Warrior winner looks pretty much just like what I submitted anyway, so I'm happy the design got in one way or another. The puffer fish hammer is great too

I think the rest of the category winners were the most boring out of all the finalists, save for the shark gunblade. That one is clever.

That moon bunny whm ; w; Guess it's time for me to main whm lolololol sobs. I'm forever haunted by Baby Shark so thanks to those who made those weapons, not only is my soul screeching but also my heart (I kid, those were really awesome!).

Especially because we have the matching apron. Delivery guy running before the coffee gets cold, to whomever ordered amidst a raid.

I also like the idea that many of the entries seem to have mixed weapon proposal for those that dual wield stuff. I wonder if such a thing would ever be considered or possible.

I mean, even for the SCH winner entry, the pallete has no pages whatsoever, so I suppose they don't really mind the page flipping/ripping animation from Excog.

The idea that I had (but never really executed it to submit) was some kind of small square case (that opened like a book) and from inside, a crystal popped and hovered above the open case. The idea because in EW quests we get to interact with crystals serving the functionality of books.

That's actually a great point on the pallette and lack of page flip & rip. I retract my statement about that not being feasible on a scroll if it isn't feasible on a paint pallette.

The crystal popping out would be totally cute and a total visual change on the books, while still being a book.

the 87 dungeon drop weapons for sch and smn both kinda sorta have this

while sheathed it still looks like a book but there is a large metal object in the center of a hollow frame
while drawn the metal object floats above the top center of the book

furthermore the pages are invisible from the front of the book
so when the camera is facing the front of the character you see through the book frame and can clearly see the character
the pages are only visible when the camera is behind or the side of the character

Oof. I didn’t even place but another harp bow with flowers (what I did) won so I’m more than a little bit salty. Also I can’t be the only one severely disappointed by the rdm ones?

Two designs that I probably like the most weren't even in the winners...

I do hope this gunblade and staff make it into the game at some point.

Both of the dancer submissions on the post look breathtaking, which is really cool to see because a lot of dancer weapons tend to not really excite me. The first just looks amazing and incredibly well designed. The bottom one is simple, but fire batons makes so much sense and is a concept that we definitely need to see at some point.
