I need help picking a race for role play!

Hello there everyone, Im really into role-playing as the hero and all of that funky fantasy stuff. I was just wondering what's the best race for that? I'm looking for like a race that I can fit as a warrior and a casual friend. I thought roegadyn would work with that but they are all kinda limited with the skin tones and noses... especially the noses.

So which race is better with that? I was thinking of an ex tribe runaway miqo'te or xaela but they both have their pros and cons and I really haven't seen anyone on reddit or here (I'm probably bad with research lol) compare them from that perspective.

I like the regeneration of body parts with the xaela but I'm not too fond of their horns in helmets. And miqo'te is overall great with being casual but the fully tails In armor kinda make me lose that serious hero vibe when I look at one.


what will or be? Miqo'te or Xaela? (Sorry for typing too much Im new to fourms)

If you're wanting more character customization options in terms of facial stuff (not just skin tone), Hyur would be your best bet. Highlander or Midlander would work well, if you aren't a stickler for wanting more unnatural skin tones that Miqo'te/Au Ra/Elezen can have. Also have the added bonus of no extra bits that will look 'off' in armor; no long ears, no tails, no horns, etc.

If you went Roegadyn first, you might want to give Highlander ladies a try. Honestly an incredibly underappreciated race that fits the sort of 'casual friend but strong heroic warrior' vibe you want.

"warrior and casual friend" I think you already have the right race for it
Roegadins can be very free, brave and friendly at times. Make a Roe Girl add a good level to the image of a bold and courageous girl in a world full of wonders and dangers!

My current char is an Au Ra xaela male, from the Hotgo tribe. in their lore, this tribe was attacked and very few remained to tell the tale. He is a warrior who wants to reclaim his clan's glory days (painting his face according to his mood and the day's tasks) trying his best to make known as a Hotgo of the old days. Not a vindictive guy, but he does have trust issues (for obvious reasons). This is why he is very carefree and not very attached to others, but he tries to be kind wherever he goes. After all, his clan had a reputation as a group of protective and righteous warriors.

I hope his tale gives you some ideas to wok with

The Au Ra Xaela tribes are perfect for roleplayers. But I agree that some visual features on them can get in the way sometimes. Hyur are far diverse and can have any background story you want. Maybe, one of them Highlanders (like my main char - that ran from Ala Mhigo in her young days looking for her missing brother and ended up on a bunch of adventurers teaching her their ways to survive) can give you more ideas

And also, Huyr Highlander girls are VERY beautiful and fits any glamour perfectly!
