Neat idea. But I remember someone once mentioned on another thread it is not possible to do so because the way the game and servers are coded etc. etc....Yeah, not happening. Despite how much I want it.

But isn't this always the case with features that Yoshi-P says are impossible, but then he figures out how to make it possible? I think if they gain enough free time once things are settled down with the current predicaments they are dealing with and etc, they could take the time to really think about and plan out a feature like this so it could work successfully without any or at least as few hiccups as possible.

Yoshi-P seems to so dead set against any solution players come up with and especially stubborn when it comes to how housing should be.

The idea of unlimited instanced housing has been suggested since before housing even existed and the only thing they've done is added more limited housing. Even island sanctuary will (probably) not fit the role of housing as I am betting it will not allow you to: Use the hundreds of pieces of furniture in the game, have airships/subs, allow you to invite people over. If I'm wrong then that'd be great, but I imagine it's just going to be a solo instance where you're just given some bullshit busywork.
