What does this add except another layer of complexity? Why is this good and better than a sprint button for out of combat, and a brief class based spring in combat?

What does this add except another layer of complexity? Why is this good and better than a sprint button for out of combat, and a brief class based spring in combat?
It gives more control compared to default sprint, you can sprint at will assuming you have stamina, same as normal sprint turn on / off pressing sprint skill.
It can be useful in raids like p3s, because of mechanics player have to repeatedly center / corner, spread / stack.
Considering weird movement latency it is probably not going to happen but nice idea :3
