Hamelt defense mission?

ok ive seen the hamlets and all (Like the one near camp horizon and such) Now my question is how do we start those missions? Is there a certain level you have to be or are they more like server events?

try talking to the npc standing there.... no srsly RPG. I think they explain everything perfectly. and hamlet is not near camp horizon but camp dry bone ...

You have to be L45+ (any class) and I believe also have a full party of 8. Then you have to talk to the militia captain to enter the instanced fight.

Hamlets operate in two phases: Supply (50hrs) and Battle (25hrs). One of the three hamlets will always be in Battle mode. xivpads.com has a nice little timer that shows which hamlet is in battle mode (right now it's the Golden Bazaar) and which aren't and for how long. Note that only one hamlet from each area has a defense event currently (Aleport, The Golden Bazaar, and Hyrstmill).

FYI, even if you're a low level you can still contribute during the supply phase. This doesn't earn you any rewards directly (Supply phase is to try and get in the top 20 for bonus rewards during the battle phase, and help raise the supply rating which helps everyone), but you can get anima restored and work towards achievements. Though, the only real feasible way to contribute as a low level is if you can make your own gear, to make materia enhanced gear and turn that in.

Unless you're really hurting for anima or are an achievement whore though, you shouldn't worry about it before 45+.

well im down to like.....8 anima now so yeah i may need to do it LOL but im 36 right now and i have about 30 leve allowances now probably. (I have been questing so much trying to get the whole grand company business out of the way.) so if i spent a full day of leve grinding i might hit 45 pretty quick enough lol.
