Also i'm pretty sure that Corsair is going to be Musketeer's first job.I think there is a good chance we will get one or even more new jobs at 2.0 release. I shouldn't be too surprised if we see a glimpse of one in the E3 trailer as SE like to drop a surprise in now and then.
Fairly certain whenever new jobs roll around that the first will be a mage class. Personally I'm waiting for ( in order) SAM,COR ( corsair makes more sense than musketeer we have a city of pirates ffs) and DNC. Think I'll be disappointed and see SMN and possibly THF first though.
Yoshi-p himself said that just because they have guilds in the game doesnt mean they will be out anytime soon. and the fact of the matter is that there are already 5 DD classes and only 2 Mages jobs. The DD jobs can wait a bit.

Exactly my point. I AM slightly biased on SMN because i loved it in 11 and summoning in general is cool.
But the main reason i want it before NIN, SAM, and musketeer, is because those are all DD classes that we already have plenty of. We need more mages (oh btw, no per classes), so a mage with a pet, would add more diversity than yet another DD.

				Dissapointed to see SMN?
Reasons SMN should be the first job we get:
1) We dont have a pet class
2) We need more mage classes
3) Summons are a big deal in every FF game.
So god forbid we get a SMN, instead of say... another meelee damage class (SAM, NIN)
or another ranged class like BRD that we already have?

It is a personal preferance. I'm sure many will enjoy the class and good luck to them. I was never a fan of SMN though which is why I used I rather than we. My choices were merely the jobs I loved the most and would like to play in xiv. Also to answer skies just because we have guilds for those classes now does not mean they will still be there once the fiery ball of death crashes into the world. It is no stretch of the imagination to think they may be destroyed and the knowledge lost.Dissapointed to see SMN?

Gladiator - paladin - dark knight
Archer - bard - musketeers
Pugilist - monk - ninja
Marauder - warrior - (who knows)
Lancer - dragoon - samurai (based on store tp type skills)
Con - white mage - summoner
thm - black mage - archanist
Just my guesses.

I really can't see musketeer and arcanist being jobs, just due to them having guild halls already. Making them jobs would limit things too. Better to have them as classes so that they can be built on later.
I'd be ok with corsair from musketeer though.

				SMN is boring :/

I seem to recall reading somewhere that arcanist was going to be a pet class... I honestly think we should get arcanist and musketeer first, not just because I'm a huge musketeer fanboy (which I am) but because those of us who've been around since the start have been teased by them since the start.
Arcanists have even appeared in game from time to time. Urianger is one. Summoner seems fun, but Arcanist might fill the role you want (pet class) as well as being a mage.

So, u want to not have an iconic FF job, in favour of Arcanist, that may or may not be a pet class, and that people arent even sure of what his skills will be
