It's interesting, I normally hate PvP. It's not my thing and in most games I avoid it. I've actually enjoyed CC, mainly because it's so easy to get into, matches are quick, even someone with little experience can land kills and the rewards are good.

I actually don't see that as a good thing. If the PvP veterans hate it and the players like me are having a week or two of fun, then they've ripped something away from the enthusiasts to give it to people who will have only fun with it for a little bit, get bored and do something else. I definitely don't see myself playing CC long term. It's just a small distraction.

I really wish they'd stop doing that. They've been doing it to quite a lot of content and it seems PvP was next on their list. The game has become more about populating all content by trying to make it for people who hate that content, rather than designing each individual piece of content for the people who love it and letting people invest into their favorite areas.

Seems the general consensus I am hearing is that the pvp is worse than before. More cheating, more win trading, and all around just poor ranking system. People are playing hundreds of matches with w/l of 50/50 and stuck in bronze rank.

I would like to hear what people enjoy about it. We have heard plenty of people complain about the things listed above, but what do you actually enjoy? They are making balance changes so its hard to say its balanced. They have openly admitted to rampant cheating so its hard to say its competitive.

I want to enjoy pvp in this game. Explain to me how you are having fun, perhaps we can all try to do what you are doing and you can help others enjoy this system.
No, I am not enjoying it. Crystalline Conflict is basically a MOBA. I despise MOBAs! They are the complete opposite of fun. Not to mention every thing I need hangs on wins and I can't count on them which only fuels the stress.

Yeah there's a lot I like about it relative to Shadowlands PvP; while I never got a chance to do the feast, I feel like some of the class changes and especially limit breaks for *most* classes make some classes feel pretty unique. I don't really like the changes from Bard for example, but I really enjoy how Ninja plays out especially with decision making via Three Mudra.

On the note of feast, I wish ranked was perhaps premade, and casual was solo (and/or partial/full composition maybe idk), as others stated, it might suck if there's a really bad comp as well as allowing people to have more free comms as the current ones feel really lacking (i.e. careful nin/drg/... are about to LB, don't stack/be above 50% hp/etc).

It also feels super rewarding to know what other classes are doing and how to circumvent that, I sorta wish Recuperate cost more mana though.

Sorta wish there was a mode with fewer people in a more feast-like vibe though.

Also I think snapshotting/server ticks are a huge issue imo

Cure 2 bug wasn't game breaking, nor was it widely known, reported, and replicated in week 1. Seemed like a pretty quick fix to me, but that's obviously subjective.
We may very well find that SE won't give the new PvP mode the support it needs, but when the new mode's been out 3 weeks and it got a balance/bug fix patch in week 2,
I don't think there's a strong case to be made that they're already showing signs of it.

I wasn't even talking about cheating and win trading. The biggest issue with CC is that players are incredibly bad at it.
I win the majority of my games and I'm within spitting distance of top 100 on my DC, and still, almost every match is a cat-herding slog.
I would rather lose more matches if the trade off was that the matches were of higher quality.

Very few matches are decided by comp. In almost all cases, matches are decided by the ability of the players.
The state of job balance is wildly overblown. There are only a handful of jobs that really can't dramatically influence a match on their own,
and are stuck relying on RNG to give them comps and players that will support their choice.
The problem is that most players are so bad it doesn't matter what job they're playing.

I enjoy it for the most part, but I always seem to get stunned IMMEDIATELY whenever I press the LB on Samurai. Turns out that there's an add-on floating around to automatically CC people who use limit breaks to interrupt it. Kinda lame, if you ask me, and it makes me not want to play competitive.

Correct, the amount of sweat and muscle cramps to learn the best combo and be one of the world best monks has been stripped away from me and my pvp enthusiasm. So much that us pvp'ing legends are unsubscribing our accounts until it becomes good again

I did my first, and probably last, pvp match I've ever done in this game.

Now, before I go on I've played a lot of MMO's and never liked pvp in any of them. It's not my thing, some are tolerable and some I'd honestly rather jump off a cliff.

FF14 is the later. It's confusing and annoying and the ability system is absolute garbage. I'd rather have my own abilities that I'm already used on my job. Not a brand new set of things I've never seen before mechanics that are foreign to me completely. Dancer is what I've been playing mostly in PvE but in PvP it's some bizarre bastardized job that doesn't even remotely resemble what I'm used to. Where TF did all my abilities go that makes me actually a dancer and why do I have a 1 button spam now?!

Honestly I don't know and can't tell you if anyone was cheating. I didn't stay alive long enough to do anything. It felt like total garbage and it sucks massive. I do not even remotely understand where anyone can find any of this nonsense to be entertaining in the slightest.

In the beginning yes. Now? Absolutely not. The matchmaking is dog shit.

In frontlines it's pretty openly used.

It's also funny to watch when ppl that have me in target for awhile immediately change/lose it the moment I press "Chiten". Like a switch. First I thought, ok they pay attention. Then I tested it with that a player being like 40-50y away. Well you can guess it...

Casual was fine. Did I have a blast? Was I obsessed and couldn't stop playing? No, it wasn't that fun, but it was a nice lil' quick distraction to play when you want to play something but don't have a lot of time.

The second I started playing ranked all the fun was vacuumed and sucked out of the mode. The competitive aspect and Rank climbing with the numerous problems the game has (the overabundance of cc without any diminishing returns, the downright broken LBs (looking at you WHM), the scuffed randomized matchmaking, the frustrating map design of certain maps (Volcanic Heart is literally just toxic for casters), the limited communication AND the inability to play with friends, to name a few) it just makes the entire mode way too frustrating to bother with.

Being hardstuck on Gold (or any Tier for that matter) because of a constant seesaw of 1 win, 1 loss, 1 win, 1 loss, 2 wins, 3 losses, 1 win, 1 loss over and over and over is not fun whatsoever and has pretty much completely drained all my energy and desire to keep trying. No play you do can change the game around (save for two classes that have the ability to do that), you can't individually win a game and half the time your teammates are orangutans jumping around and forgetting that it's an objective-based mode. It has gotten tiring, boring, frustrating and just downright not fun anymore.
