I have mixed feelings in general for pvp.
Having played since Stormblood I can say that this is the best system I've seen by far. I like how the limit breaks are. I like how easier it has become to burst people down. I'm especially happy that other people are now enjoying pvp. For once the narrative can change instead of hearing how bad pvp is.
However, I sorta feel left out. When frontlines went through some changes back between 5.1 and 5.3 it felt useless to create and try out new strategies, because it came to a point where people weren't playing to learn. I'm getting the same vibe from Crystal Conflict. No deranking? No personal win rate easily being displayed only to you? Rank doesnt feel like rank. It just feels like a separate casual mode to me. So I dont even try and do callouts. Overall, my solo experience has gotten worse over time, the exception being Rival Wings.
Don't get me wrong. I like what exist now. I'm grateful. However, I've seen restrictions being added to the point where it feels like competition doesnt exist, and I have a feeling that the restrictions aren't going to stop here. I'm not sure if I'm going to be grinding pvp for a 3rd straight expansion.
