That's just adding more wards in a roundabout way, not everyone would want what you are proposing, plus with housing wards already being dead anyways, I don't know how the idea you're suggesting alleviates this in any form. Sounds like it'd end up being an even LARGER dead area. I'm pretty sure console isn't holding housing back in any way shape or form. As for my criticism of the housing situation it's pretty straight forward, as it stands it's awful, lottery fixed absolutely nothing, we simply need more wards or instanced housing or both, the FC/personal ward split is awful, there should be more larges and mediums per ward. Smalls are relatively unpopular in both FC and Personal wards. Apartments/fc rooms don't constitute as an appropriate alternative for a vast majority of players (we want our own personal houses, not a FC house where maybe someone's idea isn't implemented fully, i.e. 5 friends in a FC try to combine all their ideas at least 1 person is going to be slightly unhappy, but our own space that we either decorate or have someone decorate). As for being in a FC completely by yourself, that doesn't sound pleasant, since this game is about being social.

But you do want more housing, don't you? Then what is the issue with what I post especially about the last part?

I suggested to increase the sizes of the current wards and placing more plots in them, rather than adding more wards as it is, it is already a labyrinth gettin from A to B and you could save more resources having all or more in the same area as it is.

As for current housing system, maybe 40% if the houses is actually used and most of those is semi active FC's

There are a large number of apartments available, whether they are in an FC house or in residential areas, they all work similar to what you say, even small houses are easy to get
Honestly there is no problem with housing, there is only a problem of greed. Everyone wants a palace. This is the real problem.

A schedule for the Island Sanctuary's release was revealed during the most recent Live Letter from the Producer. Players can expect to enjoy the new area in Patch 6.2, with further updates to the island at a later date. More details will be shared with players closer to the release. The Island Sanctuary could be a solution to FFXIV's crowded housing market. Buying a home has always been an issue, due to the large population of adventurers on each server. Currently, estates are the only way players can garden and raise their Chocobo. Houses are expensive and owning one is a rare opportunity. The Island Sanctuary in FFXIV seems to be an alternative for fans and can free up the marketplace.

Giving everyone access to a personal island is a massive change to the game. The Island Sanctuary in FFXIV allows for the freedom of expression like never before. Players will be able to invite friends and show off their own custom-made islands. Depending on how extensive the new feature is, some players may even spend the majority of their time decorating the area. Final Fantasy XIV fans can look forward to hearing more details about the Island Sanctuary as the release of Patch 6.2 draws closer.

Nah, we should be able to criticize a broken system SE decides to throw in bandaid fixes for. There is no "half-full" when it locks out a good portion of the playerbase. No, apartments and FC apartments are not the same. Yoshi-P has already urged us that Island Sanctuary is not housing and to temper our expectations with it, and since we barely know anything about it, it shouldn't be treated as a substitute for housing. Stop blaming the players when SE is responsible for the mess in the first place. They are not an indie company lol.

They don’t come in different sizes, and there seems to be no plans to actually implement this despite it being a feature requested almost as much as instanced housing or more wards (and a suitable alternative to the problems with housing). So I take any hype like what you posted above with a grain of salt, personally.

This man really complaining about something that not only used to be the same thing as a small house, yet only costs 300-500k instead of 40m+ and doesn't blow up when you stop entering it. You're wildin my lala.
