    Of the lack of auto-crafting option

    Hello community

    One thing that really bothers me in FFXIV is the lack of an auto-crafting system like it exists in almost all the other MMOs out there.

    I understand the point of view of Devs about this : "No character can perform an action without the player activating a key". I may not summarize it well but this is the idea. While this is a noble idea, especially after years of failing in FFXI ( ... ) I think it is poorly implemented in FFXIV. One of the example for that were the hundreds of crafting bots back in the time when "standard work" was enough.

    But this is not my point.

    My point is : suppose you want to level goldsmith and you need danburite for this. So you take your pickaxe and go farm danburites. You can not bot this, and even if you are a programmer, it would reveal long and difficult to code a bot to do this.
    So you are out there farming danburites and spend time for this. Time which you might not have a lot of. Then you need to craft those danburites to level up goldsmith, but then you need to spend time AGAIN doing nothing else than pressing the enter key, and sometimes the down arrow key to select the good action.

    I think it is not normal that you have to spend time twice this way. It really makes farming for crafting a pain in the a** and a not fun at all activity.

    Compare this to other games where you know that after 2hours of intense farming, you can rest your character in some place and it would craft all those gems / melt ingots / do whatever on its own, while you grab yourself a drink and congratulate yourself for such a good farming session.

    In conclusion, I get a more intense sense of rewardship when my character is able to craft what i farmed, than having to craft each and every single item one after the other.

    As an opening, I would like to have a button "craft this reciepe multiple times" when you know you will craft your 54 danburites in a row, instead of having to chose the same reciepe every time.

    Our crafting system is unlike any other mmo out there

    we can actualy use our crafts in combat and stuff with some of the new combat for example

    auto crafting is meant for a crafting system that has NO IMPACT ON THE GAME AND IS NOT ITS OWN CLASS,
    in 14, its its own class and can do more then make gear

    that alone says it all

    Also if you spam enters you will never level as fast as the one that spams bold for quality. No wonder it's miserable for you, do you even know quality increases your experience?

    of course i do, i use quality a lot when doing mandats.
    But here i'm not talking about quality, i'm talking about quantity.
    This game is very not user friendly when it comes to crafting stuff in quantities and i think they can improve that without ruining the craft=class philosophy.

    they have been improving on ALOT of stuff, the problem however in now way shape or form lies within an auto craft feature

    if they add something that lets you walk away from your computer and lets the game do the work for you, thatd essentialy be botting in regards to how crafting here is handled, so yeah, wont happen

    First you can bot mining if you want, basicly its just hit lay of the land (different areas would influance it) you input what you want to mine then it automatically hits lay of the land, reads the screen and runs to the node, then at the node (tab around for the ???) hit up or down x amount of times for the sweet spot and a timer on the hits. (its a little more advanced than that but its the jist of it.)

    Second, crafting is its own class, I would never like to level a class on start crafting, output 0=fail, output 1= NQ success, output 10= HQ, while it takes time to craft its based around skill as well as luck, you need to know what everything does and means, for example, you want to go for HQ you are at 15 durability 97 progress and 20% HQ, do you use bold to get that extra quality and the possibility of a botch, or do you go for standard to finish and go for a low double down odds?

    Auto crafting (like FFXI) is just a random number generator, and a specific output indicates the results, 100% luck and randomness {no thanks} even change materia so its more skill based and less random please.

    Hasty Hand is your friend then. No you won't be able to make 54 at once, I wont even go about how ridiculous the idea of that sounds. I am sure the other MMO lets you craft once at a time too to prevent market flood.

    Auto-craft with 50% success chance and no exp would be ok, i think
    Or just use for quantity hasty hand and the "3 in 1" recipes

    you could buy the danburites if your too lazy to farm and craft.
