Got to Crystal with only dancer AMA

It was painful, but it was done. I got up to Diamond 1 in 6.1 and made it to Crystal after 6.11 released.

What are your thoughts on Honing Dance? I love zipping around with En Avant and harassing people, but Honing Dance turns off your mobility and defensive cooldowns for what seems like pretty mediocre reward: how have you been approaching it?

I had a lot of fun being the Dancer that everyone groaned out because it was underpowered :P

In all seriousness though it is such a different vibe to every other pvp class and that was very fun.

I only got to Crystal last night so I'm not sure actually, might try Ninja mostly because I love dance partnering Ninjas!

Honing Dance should not grey out other abilities so you can end it by using another ability and you should get a damage reduction for its duration. But currently I use Honing Dance to A. Hit 1-2 people when I know I can get a shield off to my party and not die in the process and B. Trigger my ultis charm duration increase, other than that its too dangerous to use in a hectic combat setting and if youre getting targeted.

im on avg 5-6th in ds, top 3 in healing and top 3-5 with time on crystal but I still stuck in bronze 3 after 75 games played

Without seeing how you play here are some general tips:

A. mark enemies with 1,2 etc based on priority. Call out which targets you're hitting. don't bother hitting healers and tanks unless they're being mass focused down or they're blocking the point
b. dance partner melee dps first before anyone else
c. be off to the side dealing damage generally speaking, dont be in the middle of things outside of ult/honing dance because you'll die
d. dancers can chase people but aren't great assassins so try not to solo people unless you're trying to harass them away from a fight
e. don't use honing dance in a group of 4 or more enemies generally speaking because you'll die using it. use it on 1-2 enemies or when you're extending your ultimate

Congratulations!
Now if only more people just put in the effort like you did instead of moaning and groaning how the system is against them and how the government is secretly installing cameras up their bum to fight alien invaders they too can achieve crystal on any job, powered or unpowered.
I salute you sir and or madam for accomplishing your objective instead of making 9 posts on how pvp sucks and you want your golden Binkie or freebies.
