Thread: 6.11 Buffs to SAM

Thank you for the replies all; threads like mine and this one by SleeeeeeepySleeeeeeep pretty much encapsulate our thoughts regarding these 6.11 'fixes', which I am now learning were most likely in response to the Yukikaze + Hagakure Shinten spam meme rotation.

Quite sad that a meme rotation echoed from Stormblood was close in damage to the more optimal rotation they had numbered out, and that it forced their hand to push these band-aid changes through. Just goes to show that they do not know what they are doing, nor have quite as close a pulse on the community as so many claim.

Woke up and read patch notes. Felt saddened to see SAM hasn't reverted. So I am here, once more, to voice my disappointment.

There aren't many jobs in the game at this time that I find fun to play. With the SAM changes, I don't know what job to change to now because most jobs just don't have playstyles that I enjoy. I used to main PLD in ARR. I took a long break, came back, but found all the tanks played so similarly and were braindead that I couldn't go back to playing a tank. I tried healer. Only found SCH mildly interesting out of all the healers but they were also homogenized. I played SMN out of necessity for ShB for my group. I wasn't a fan of the job but it was more interesting back then than it is now. And now I see SAM going down the toilet too.

Please revert changes. Running out of jobs to pick from that are fun to play. And the pool is getting smaller with every major job change you guys are introducing. In fact, please stop job simplifications across the board. Easier to play doesn't mean more fun. Just means nothing has separate flavors anymore. It's like selling multiple brands of vanilla ice cream while trying to convince me that they're all unique. There might be subtle differences but I've never been a fan of vanilla to begin with.
