Sorry to disagree, but personally I like it as it is (opening automatically). Also if it changed to manual open/close then it'll get one of those ugly arrows which I know I can turn off, but everyone visiting would see it unless they also turned them off.

But I also wish that it matched the other book cases (being the same height). Possibly it was done that way so it hits the ceiling and conceals the fact it's actually a wall/door, but it'd be nice if they both matched in height.

I thought if it was in a FC house then the entire FC sees them? (because they can interact with summoning bells or food plates so what would make this any different?)

But regardless, sorry I still stand by my original statement that I prefer them as they are, automatically opening.
