    If I remember correctly, the main goal of this new PvP mode is to move the Crystal and win. The only way the Crystal is going to move is if people are inside of it. Ranged do not get a free pass to not stand inside it. What do you end up with if one of your party members isn't helping with the Crystal-moving part of the game, you know, the main goal? An angry team. Everyone should be participating.

    Yes. Don't chase that WHM who is out of Recuperates so they can fall back, potion, regroup with their team and wreck you on the crystal with like two LBs because you like hugging each other in a nice full stack. This will work great.

    You need one person to push. Keeping enemies respawns staggered is more valuable than twiddling your thumbs waiting for the crystal to move.

    Like everything in life context matters.

    If a WAR goes into the spawn/chases to harass which makes them a target while someone else pushes the crystal? Awesome.

    When a dps/healer runs after someone and dies because they got 4v1'd in the backline? Less awesome.

    Pressure itself is a key point in any match as any time spent having the enemy run away is time they're not bursting down your squishier team members. Just don't run into a group/spawn when the SAM has their LB like a moron >_>

    That being said I've gone in with WAR/SGE/RDM/etc and pushed into the backline and sometimes the key to victory is, indeed, distracting your opponent. I've had a game where three of their dps chased me as a WAR which provided my team the ability to kill the tank trying to push the crystal, and push it in our favor. It's a valid strategy to take one kill of either yourself or a team mate to keep 2-3 people annoyed/pressured.

    I'd say one of the biggest issues in the games I've played currently when I'm playing SGE or with a WHM as SGE is that they will let a NIN or someone wreak absolute havoc on the back line defense and not do anything about it until it's too late. Chasing/going into enemy territory has its purpose, especially in Overtime. if 3 people are on crystal and 2 are harassing in spawn or close to it, that can be a key difference between a win and a loss in terms of ground covered.

    The people who leave me or a single person alone on the crystal to defend against the oncoming onslaught of 4vMe though? Yeah...that always sucks.

    And that's fine, but I'm talking about situations where the fight is over and people chase the straggler that's running away in the direction of our spawn (if it was the enemies spawn then whatever, deal with the respawners), or a scenario where we are trying to hold the crystal in overtime and everyone spreads out to chase someone and we lose the match because me and maybe one other player in the circle get killed and we lose.

    There's a time and a place, but most of the time I see people chasing because they just have tunnel vision.

    Depends on how far ahead in the progress bar your are in OT. If it's close, as in, a few pixels away from being completely even. Absolutely you should chase, cause KO'ing that person auto ends the game and you'll win. OT is all about knowing where the progress bar is up top, and decided weather or not to go for kills or crystal movement. You could be getting waxed the entire game, force OT, and push the crystal from one end of the map to the other and still lose. Progress is the only thing that matters once OT hit. You're in the lead, keep em out of the crystal and abandon it. You're behind by a small amount? 1 person in, kill whoever is squishiest

    I counter-argument can be made that if you pursue and get the kill, that player is out for a while. If not, he will simply use the elixir around the corner and come back to harass you. So I would not say "do not chase people in principle", I would say more "chase them if you are sure you can quickly get a kill. if not, don't bothe". Also, obviously don't chase anyone if there is only you or only you and another teammate with the crystal
