concerns regarding newest Collab

i'm going to preface this by saying that I personally think these collab deals SQEX does with other companies for in game items are always terrible. the Grub Hub collab stands out in particular as a notoriously bad example. and i honestly feel this upcoming Jollibee collab is going to be another fine example of why they really shouldn't do this stuff.

i've done some digging, for me personally the closest Jollibee is over 100 miles away, across state lines, which is just unreasonable for an in game emote. and looking up complex (why wasn't this site linked anywhere in the lodestone promo page?) shows some kind of high end pop culture fashion page, with clothing going for anywhere between $70 to over $300, which just sounds criminal.

are the clothes they want the folks to buy who can't access a Jollibee who want the emote going to cost $70? are they expecting us to cough up $300 on a hoodie, while some guy at a Jollibee spends a mere fraction of that on some chicken?

I know folks have strong feelings regarding the cash shop, and personally I'd rather just have the emote be an in game reward, but if they have to have us spend money on it I would rather have it be the cash shop, where there isn't all this added bull crap.

On the one hand, I understand why these collaborations with restaurant chains people often haven't heard about bother people. On the other hand...now you have heard of them (that's their goal) and there's one in Anaheim not far from the convention center, and that place is going to make money hand over fist next week, where FFXIV players from all over the place are going to be very nearby.

Not interested in driving 142 miles for fast food and an emote. But I'd probably use it about as often as I use the Gong Cha mount, so I'm not really broken up about it.

I just want to remind people that in previous promos people did all the steps and didnt get the emotes

Dont burn money at a CHANCE to get the emote, if you have a Jollibee nearby, go ahead, but please hold them to high standards if you want things to get better

Seems I'll be missing out as well, given that the only Jollibee in my state is several hours over in a different city, and I'm not interested in overpriced clothes.

I don't know why they would choose such an obscure chicken chain in the US, when the promotion was previously tied to KFC. (I had never heard of Jollibees until now.)
