Aglaia Final Boss Scale Mechanic

I just wonder what kind of players you guys have over there, out of all the runs I've done I've yet to see someone troll that mechanic. At worst someone trolls a bit by going forward and back but then stops before the time.

What exactly is the mechanic? In practice it seems to be "stand on the opposite side to the tethered enemy you fought" but that seems too simplistic, and sometimes they seem to be marked with different numbers of weights but I haven't been able to detect a difference in the result.
