    Aglaia Final Boss Scale Mechanic

Nald'thal's scale mechanic is too easy to troll. I've had multiple groups this week that balance the scales quickly and stay still and then at the last second, someone decides to troll the entire Alliance and switches sides to wipe everyone. Or people die to the stack mechanic or getting hit by the cone, and then refuse to raise and so the scales can't be balanced. It's frustrating. It's an irritating part of an otherwise incredible raid.

I just think that in the future this mechanic will continue to be a point of frustration for everyone and I really think it should be adjusted. I don't think it should be an instant wipe. A vuln stack and maybe a damage down, sure. But an instant wipe means that a dedicated troll or group of griefers can essentially guarantee the raid times out, or that the raid takes significantly longer than it otherwise should. I hope this is addressed in the near future.

Honestly I think it's a very fun mechanic, and I haven't had any trolls in my runs yet, but I can definitely see how that could very easily ruin everyone's day. Maybe instead of an instant wipe, everyone gets blasted by a room-wide AOE that takes their health down to 1 and a debuff that makes healing gained less effective, turning it into a big heal check if someone messes it up? But the problem with that would be the mechanic would very quickly become easy to ignore once people can outgear it...

I've had it fail and it wasn't a wipe. We took some damage and didn't get the buff.
I don't think one person has enough weight to cause this situation unless it was already going to be close as it is.

Any time the scale is tipped it has ended up with a wipe for 10 million damage.

I've not seen other outcomes other than a balanced scale doing moderate damage and then buffing us.

That happened to me today and unfortunately I was the one that caused the wipe (not on purpose).

We had a lot of new players in the alliance run I had and at the last second we were still short 1 person on one side, I rescued someone from my team and the scale balanced out but I didnt expect another person to adjust at the very well as well and end up killing the raid. The timer ran out and we wiped. I feel like a troll even though I was genuinely trying to adjust to the mechanic.

I've had 2 cases of the scale tipping towards onside and its been both instant wipe when it happened. Its frustrating because I wasn't trying to troll I was actually trying to balance the mechanic since most of the alliance seemed to have no clue whats going on.

Maybe give a bit more room for mistake? Make it a 3 to 5 player weight difference not wipe the party? Its incredibly hard to adjust because other player model has a delay to them on your screen and one could easily mistake make a snapshot kill the entire raid by over adjusting.

Edit: Maybe make it where you don't have all the damage buff if you fail the scale? Making the fight take slightly longer seems like a far better punishment than instantly wiping the party because one person walked to the wrong side intentionally or not.

I really don't care if this is thread nerco'ing or not, this remains an issue.

Approximately 1 in 3 runs has someone intentionally moving sides after the scales have balanced, putting it out of balance and wiping the raid.
This is infuriating, and against what I believed was the spirit of boss mechanics, being anti-harassment and personal responsibility.
    That one person (I've heard there's a three-person lee-way, I don't believe you) can intentionally wipe a 24man raid is ridiculous.

The problem lies entirely in the scale of the consequence.
For passing, the raid receives LB3 and a damage buff.
For failing, instead of killing everyone (which makes no sense to the story if this is a test of our prowess), it could simply clear the LB meters and give everyone a damage dealt penalty.

The gear in this raid is beautiful, and it will likely be regularly run unsynced in subsequent expansions. If this mechanic remains as-is, this will remain a glaring stain on FF14's otherwise stellar game-play.

While I fully believe that Square-enix has sufficient QA testers as their FF14 content is nearly always flawless, they clearly need more trolls on staff.

There is most definitely a lee-way of at least a couple people. I've done that raid a few times where all 3 of the mini-bosses spawn on the same side of the platform, meaning the entire raid should be on the other side. I've seen at least 2, maybe 3 people still go to the "wrong" side in a way that literally can't be re-balanced by someone else, and the group still survives. So there is most definitely some leeway there. Honestly, I haven't seen a group fail the balancing since the first week it was out.

There is for sure leeway of a couple players. I had a run of weeks when my only Aglaia run would be monday night an hourish before reset. Those runs were especially rife with people doing this, because they could literally stop you from clearing for the week if they trolled efficiently enough. So what ive started doing was purposefully standing on the wrong side, right at the line. Everyone else arranges themselves, and most weeks i dont have to move(i will rather then wipe us of course). If i see anyone running accross the line right at the end, im ready to hop back over and re-fix it. Not perfect, but i havent been successfully trolled in weeks. Of course, now that ive said it im due for one.
