    The absolute state of MCH rn

    Machinist has been lying dead in a gutter since the 6.0 tooltips got announced. Its job philosophy is a selfish dps in the role that by design deals the least amount of damage. Its strict cooldowns and windows leaves it feeling needlessly punishing to play yet underwhelming given its damage hits like a wet noodle.

    Why is the cowboy-hatted gun-toting robot-summoning job just so bland?

    The design team's current obsession with homogenization and a staid 2-min %-dmg raid buff for 20+ seconds is leaving jobs like MCH without any room for a fun, interesting identity. Let us plant debuffing turrets on the arena. Let us go akimbo or use the cool PvP sniper rifle. Let us do something beyond "press the 580-potency weaponskill every 20 seconds".

    SE. Please give us at least one complex job per role, to help newer players learn more about the game and to give experienced players something fun to play. Both casual and hardcore players will love you for it. (please i just want my cowboy Gundam job to be cool)

    MCH either needs debuffs added to its tools (return the turrets!) Or it needs to have cast times so it can become a selfish dps equal to sam/blm (they will not budge on this physical ranged tax for some reason)

    Oh god flashbacks to the Gun/Bow mage of HW lol. Fun times tbh but omg would not go back to that state of the game. For reasons other than cast times

    I wouldn't mind if they brought back HW machinist cast times (you'd still need a skill like reload and quick fire to be reintroduced for on demand movement) but also allowed you to move slowly during casts like with PvP.
    But then again I'm no MCH main and miss the good ol days

    For everything normal kupo I find it just dandy and easy but hitting up savage or such where it counts I really cannot comment on because I have not researched or ran data for those on mch. kupo <3

    Seeing as how they go with Edgar's (FFVI) tools maybe something like Noiseblaster aoe stun or something kupo <3 lol

    Pretty sure this expansion, the reason why the new skills were so boring was they stated machinist is in what they consider a completed state. If this is what a completed class looks like I am sorry everyone but your classes are going to suck and have high apm in the future.

    Ironically, it feels as the least complete job.
    Heat gauge is used by one button (And extend to Heatblast/auto cross bow).
    Heatblast spam somehow remains at 5 GCDs and not on stack. Blood weapon was put on stack, Soteria was put on stack.
    Battery gauge is used by one button and it's press&forget.
    Flamethrower still exist as if they somehow forgot about it.
    Wildfire is incredibly boring.
    Barrel stabilizer needs a QoL or change how it function due to how rigid it makes the heat gauge management.
    Basic combo is boring, visually unappealing and completely disconnected from the main rotation apart from gauge generation.
    Automaton Queen needs QoLs, I'm not going to repeat everything about how its AI is flawed.

    All the dopamine lies in Drill, Air Anchor and Chain saw (that isn't even a chainsaw.).
    MCH need the other half of the rework.

    I literally had a conversation with someone recently because I was over at their house and saw their mch hotbars and I was like 'How do you weave Gauss Round and Ricochet with Heat Blast when they're so far apart?' and they were like "wut?" because they didn't realize that was a thing

    Not calling you out but maybe it's something that is commonly overlooked by players new to the job Similar to how the meaning of the additional effect of Suiton is sometimes overlooked or not understood by new ninja players

    I mean you say all the dopamine lies in the one shot GCDs but personally I get da rush from that high apm whilst doing a Wildfire combo with weaves through movement mechanics

    I will say that wish Auto Crossbow got the additional effect of reducing Gauss Round and Ricochet cooldown by 15sec as well so I could do some more weaves on trash in dungeons

    Why do people comment on critique posts if they never post anything worth posting. Sheesh you don’t go to a protest defending Walmart, and you don’t post “I think the job is great” in a blatant displeased rant of how the job ISNT

    Also, I’m fully aware NO ONE doesn’t know that you weave G/R into heat blast and it’s borderline insulting to assume anyone especially on the forums, more so on a job rant post, more so if it’s freaking CKNovel, the literal token MCH main in the forums.

    And good technically but no, Heat is to execute 1 button the weaving is reset on HB behalf not heat

    MCH changes I'd like:
    -Overcharge is now on the charge system so you get 5 attacks in during it
    -Heat Blast now gives 30 seconds to Gauss Round, but none to Ricochet
    -Auto Crossbow now gives 30 seconds to Ricochet
    -Flamethrower does 20 more potency on targets affected by Bioblaster, finishing the cast entirely rewards 20 heat
    -Drill and Bioblaster are now separate
    -Hate to say it, but they 'could' follow SAM and remove Reassemble and make Drill/Air Anchor direct crit by default. Maybe apply a bleed to targets hit by Chainsaw
    -Do something to spice up the combo shots, maybe bring back cast times for those but boost damage
