What's a real worry is a lot of people are banking on these island sanctuaries supposedly coming in 6.2 to scratch the itch of player housing. "Just wait and see" they say. Even YoshiP has stated not to get your hopes up about them in this regard. Now maybe when 6.2 drops, especially after seeing all the blowback from this housing fiasco, maybe YoshiP and co WILL make island sanctuaries player housing. Or they'll just make them a small garden plot ala the farm in Four Winds from WoW ("There's your gardening scrubs. Now quit complaining about player housing, I have Hrothgar ears to chop!"-YoshiP). As a newer player, Empyrium offered the hope of finally getting to partake in the housing of FF14, something I really wanted to indulge in, only to be left in disappointment realizing not only how bad the lotto system is, but the overall state of player housing as a whole. And the sad fact is, this has been going on for years unaddressed. It's actually quite shocking how a game as big as FF14 is could actually have content that is locked behind being lucky of all things. Not lucky, then this content you can't partake in, even though our in game events give you rewards for said content! Now even WoW has a such badly designed system, and they're pretty low on some of the garbage they put out these days. And when WoW can claim that kind of victory over FF14, that they aren't "that" bad in comparison, then the devs who work on FF14 should feel real shame. Not just because a potentially inferior game can claim this victory, but also because hundreds of thousands of players want to engage with this system and call a small part of Eorzea home and can't and the disappointment that causes.
They never disclosed or confirmed if it is indeed a hardware issue or they just dont care.
