    @ Kibo
in ffxi most NA players would level up and leave groups w/o notice, alot still do.
American players from what I seen (since i am one) are pretty much under the belief that no one in an mmo are truely our friends in such. They are ppl we don't know and may never know. "So why be nice , who cares?" is pretty much a few excuses I seen over the years. Parties for Na players are just "work". Most just start one/ join one get what they want and leave. Most with out notice. Most jp will stay in a party (good or bad) unless they are passing out from being tired. While an NA player will kick out the "bad" player or leave the "bad" party. Most jp give people chances or as long as everyone is having fun and the players are doing their basic role. It all good.

The last part was a recent thing. I was in a jp party just as aby launched as a dnc puller in xarcabard S. I told them I neverpulled there b4 but will try. I had a guy who spoke both english and japanese. I sucked...... Like wicked bad, never was kcked

Most jp parties you will see them talking non stop. Fight or no fight. Where as NA are quiet for the most part. JP imo play the game to have fun. NA make it work to end game then kinda have fun.

The generalizations are nice but I think it goes both ways. I can't tell you how many jp's have dropped in the pts I've been in without warning, using the [Time for work!]

To comment on the Cutural thing with JP vs Na players.

I think the issue between the JP and NAs is almost all a cultural thing. In general the NAs are more demanding, very short on patients, and extremely vocal on everything. On Xi with the partys a JP party would last for 3-5 hrs with almost no one leaving if they did they always got a replacement before they left, the JPs worked together and communicated with each other. In the NA partys people would just bail when they wanted out of the party and at least for awhile at the start they did what every they wanted to in partys... that is one of the reasons why JP players stopped partying with us alot, we where stupid, arrogant, stubborn noobs.

Even now on the forums you can see the difference between the mentality of the playerbases. I think JP players had 380 topics but they are probably about 10:1 in population of overall FFXIV players atm, NAs have around 1000 post... The thing is you will something like "I dislike how the targeting system is" on the JP forum with 300-400 responses of players giving thier opinions and how they want it fixed but on the NA forum you see 30 threads about the same thing with the same 100-300 ppl complaining on each of them with things like "yea this is why the game fails, this game sucks".

Using Google Translator I have not seen 1 troll in the JP forums, and there are at least 3-4 here who are very vocal in the NA forums. Just literally 2 different worlds, we all have the same complaints but approach them so differently.
Everything you say is true. While we obviously know that not 'all' people were like that, it was most common amongst us NA players.

Gotta agree with this, as it had been the case more often than not when I played FFXI.

Also, it's not like this dev team is being true to the roots of the jobs anyway.
This game is not WoW; if you want WoW, go play WoW. If you get butthurt when people mention Final Fantasy XI, then shut up about WoW.

ya... I love how ppl think the jp make up excuses to leave groups. XD. I partied with alot of jp and only leave if they really have to. it being 5am or having to go to work. japanese are a day ahead of americans so when we are gettong on from going to work, they are getting read to go to work. And when we are waking up they are going to bed.
