Please allow us to glamour offhand weapons

As it stands, Paladin is the only job able to equip (and glamour) a separate offhand weapon. This variety allows for a lot of cool combinations for people to put together neat sets, what I would absolutely love is that same glamour variety to also be accessible to other jobs that use two weapons.

Some examples off the top of my head: Red Mages using a different crystal focus, Ninjas Monks and Dancers using separate weapons in each hand, Bards and their quivers, heck maybe even allow Black Mages and White Mages to glamour old 1h wands + shields. The only one that might be problematic is Samurai and their sheathes, since some swords are curved or whatnot. (then again SE very clearly isn't shy about letting things clip)

Now I'm not a game developer or an expert so I cant really say how feasible a system like this would be, but I know most of these are stored as offhand models already. Maybe a solution would be to add the subcommand "Glamour Offhand" to available weapons?

Again I'm no expert but I'd love to hear more people's thoughts on a system like this.

In the game's current system, I think the only way would be to reconfigure the offhand pieces as independent items, and I don't think our inventory could handle it.

It was said an interview that they cannot make Ninja's daggers to have different appearance on each hand, because they don't make a main and an off-hand dagger, but a single model that is copy-paste into another hand. Other items like Red Mage's focus, Samurai's sheath... also share the same fate.



To cater your request, this will require SE to make several sets of off-handed items so that they can be glammed separately like a shield, thus inflating the number of items which SE has been already trying to cutting down.

PLD is the only combat job that uses an off hand. There is the exception of wand + shield in the early levels, but I digress. It would be far easier to make PLD's sword and shield a single weapon than it would to give other jobs an off hand. It might even be favorable to eliminate the off hand completely to give back extremely valuable armory space. This is something they are very likely to do in the near future considering how little the off hand slot is utilized by combat jobs, and for DoH/DoL classes it is a major pain to acquire double the tools no matter how you look at it (craft, buy, farm scrips, etc.) On the development end, they also have double duty. In a game that is currently cutting corners where they can, the off hand slot is smack dab right on one of those corners.

Many PLDs will not like that change one bit, and I know they can sense it looming in the horizon. But hey. They are known for making noble sacrifices. I for one will honor their deed to give everyone more armory space.

I know that is going in the complete opposite direction you were hoping for, OP. Something they could do for jobs like NIN or DNC is give their second weapon another appearance. You still won't be able to glamour each individual weapon, but they would each have a unique appearance. Probably not much of a consolation.
