open housing plot for all

When I look on my server in Twintania I see that ward 1 to 18 is pretty empty and
19 to 24 is rather full, same goes for the subplots
(talking about the new housing in the Empyreum..haven't check the others)

Housing is a wonderfull thing and I love to finally have a large free company house with my friends.
It's sad to see alot of wards empty because they are only for free companies.


So my question is : Why not open all wards for everyone instead of free company / personal ?


I would love to see the wards fill up and people enjoying the housing themself

...because people kept asking for Fc-wards only, arguing that FCs needed the houses more than indivuals since there are (FC) functions locked behind housing (mainly the workshop) and that FC-houses can provide more people with housing through FC-chambers and potentially everyone in the FC having a go at decorating, using things like the garden, vendors etc.

No matter what they're going to do, someone will complain though - because everyone is only looking for a way to increase the odds for themself (without realising that they'd probably still not get a house).

while that is true this doesn't change the fact that the current split is just ridicilous, and that is something that anyone truly thinking about it should have seen coming. doesn't even matter in that case if people truly believe fc's need houses that badly, release ishgard with 6 fc wards (instead of 18) and when people complain those aren't enough show them prove that even the 6 wards are half empty.

the problem isn't fc only housing, the problem is that square has changed the housing areas in a way as if every single fc needed at least a medium house while at the same time screwing single players up completly. if you look at a new server, with the current split (and yes, they can change it later, still no reason to release it like that) there are now (counting all wards including ishgard) as much potential houses for single players as there were in a single housing area before this change and that has to be a sad joke.

sounds like a problem of the devs own making doesn't it? why make it so hard to get a house that ends up causing people to try and increase their chances as much as possible?

Oh, I agree that this is a problem created by the devs - but suggetions like the one presented by the OP dont actually adress the problem. The only solution would be instanced housing - any other "solution" presented just shifts the problem (including "make more housing available for individuals vs. FCs - it still wont be enough).

That actually sounds like a fairly sensible argument for prioritizing FC housing out of the gate for the new areas.

I notice that vacated plots still seem to be locked for FC or individual, but I could imagine them rebalancing things at some point and/or unlocking them.

I think a lot of FC houses are affected by the housing bug, so at the moment they seem empty, but they will fill up once the lottery system bug is solved.

I've been patient for almost six years. This is getting pretty old.
