Besides your hypocritical derailment of the topic, the only thing you have presented so far is:
"I hope that, people will start to see, that having a consistency to their DPS, with certain skills auto-critting, brings a certain level of elegance to the job, having a feel of being a true master of the blade with precise strikes and alike, opposed to a brute going HAM with a katana in hand."
Certainly a fair opinion to have, but is 100% subjective, and not one shared by most of the samurai community. To me, the current iteration feels far more flat and clunky.
- sure, part of it is just muscle memory that has been built up over the years.
- That its the opposite of finesse.
(Finesse: 1. refinement or delicacy of workmanship, structure, or texture, or... 2. skillful handling of a situation : adroit maneuvering)
The change did the exact opposite. It removes skill from the situation (what little their was). It removed effort, it did not refine the effort.
Not only does it feel more clunky and they remove what effort was required, but the rotation also feels hollow. You are no longer involved in making your big hits big hits. Its automatic now (not to mention they arn't big hits in the first place anymore).
- "that having a consistency to their DPS" and to touch on this point specifically. There are other solutions to this without robbing the job of its options, or feel. There are other classes out there that outputs middling damage consistently. Why not choose one of those classes then if thats the game play style you desire? I am 100% against class homogenization. Spike damage was SAM identity.
Out of your subjective reasons for defending the changes, I believe you are 100% backwards as to the achieved results.
Objectively, what is bare bone (and a negative to the class) fact:
- SAM still has the same amount of button spam/action bloat, now it is just autopilot shinten spam. SE's stated issue wasn't resolved by their solution. It just added to the problem (if it was one, which I don't agree with) by making the same number of buttons/actions more mindless and didn't fix anything. (also, I would argue shinten is far more awkward and obscure in the chain then Kaiten).
- The Kenki gauge has been rendered pointless past a resource bucket. There is no management anymore, just simple spending when you have it.
- The thrill of big hits and feeling like the strategic nuke the party brought along is no longer there. Its great for you that you enjoy the current game play more. But without question, many samurai players were playing the class for that feeling of game style. Many of us have played this class since its iteration and having the entirely identity of the class restructured to be something entirely different is not only jarring, but without question disappointing as well. It would be effectively psychopathic to not be able to recognize that very very simple point.
