Well. Now it's even worse. I was trying to do my 50,60,70.80 roulette. And get Matoya's Relict (Whatever the hell it's called) And I can't log in on my main anymore. I keep getting "An Error has occurred. exiting Final Fantasy XIV 2022-04-19_11:37" I've tried multiple things. and No I will not shut off my intel graphics because it will mess my computer up, and I can't afford a new one. So I legit cannot log in on my main anymore. I am able to get on my alts just fine. But my main is completely locked out. and Idk what to do.

I was able to log in. Idk what happened tbh. Appearently I can't do Matoya's Relict. Like at all. As soon as I try to zone in. It force closes and if I try to log back in, it pretty much gives me the two errors above. I don't know what to do.. Im so scared I am gonna screw my computer up. I don't wanna turn my intel graphics off because it might ruin my computer.. I feel really stuck.. only hope I can think of is reinstalling the game..

Welcome to hell :/. These errors come and go almost every patch for seemingly random people. In some cases, it works better if you remove all USB devices, sometimes a reinstall of certain drivers can help mitigate for a short period of time. The game is incredibly unstable and pretty much anything can make it crash. I started the calculator and had the game crash! For the most part, the smaller patches (0.5) help a lot until you get a new major patch and people start having problems again.

Lately, I've seen streamers starting to have issues, especially if they PVP.

I honestly don't think they can fix the issues completely, the code is just too badly written at this moment, it would require them to rewrite most of the game to get it to not crash and I just don't see that happening.

And to all the Linus techtips technowizards out there, no, the hardware of users is not at fault. It's not the hardware that causes the software to crash, it's the software that causes the hardware to crash.

Keep trying and hopefully, you can get further, or wait for the next patch and test then, I know it's not a solution, but this issue is 7 years old and it just keeps coming back over and over again.

Thank you for the info. I haven't done the reinstall yet. I've been trying to avoid doing SHB Dungeons and EW Dungeons. After what happened with Matoya's I am kinda just avoidnig them.

Not a solution, but a quick fix, if you do get locked out of the game some how and can't login due to an error happening the instant you try to zone into the game do the following.

On the login screen (character select screen) right click your character and choose to login to a different world (server).

This will zone your character to one of the three starter cities, you can transfer back to your home server after.

In addition, and I am sure you may have done this, do a file check, this will replace any corrupted files.
Try to reinstall DirectX (is that even possible on Windows 10 now?).

Update graphics card drivers, even if your laptop is specific, I *think* you can use the generic Nvidia drivers from their website.

As a final last resort, reinstall the game, or, if you don't mind, recover the PC and start with a fresh install of the operating system.

It has been announced that the dev team has been updating in game graphics, so this might be related.

Thank you for all the suggestions you have given. As I have stated. My Graphics card is no longer being supported. and is at it's End of life. I don't think you can reinstall DX? but I will look into that, and I honestly think I am just gonna do the reinstall, and move it to a different drive. See if that helps. The thing is though. When I do get into a SHB Dungeon (71-79) i am fine up till I get to a boss, then I either get an error, or it force closes. It never did this before even when I went through SHB toward the end of last year (Near the launch of EW) it's the same with EW dungeons. and I went through those in March. It's.. puzzling.

Yeah your graphics card reached EOL (end of life) 4 years ago, which means that you’ll have to install Nvidia’s generic drivers for it, rather than the dedicated drivers you’re probably used to. I’m not sure what the process for that is, I suggest you look it up for the Nvidia GeForce 820M.

(But honestly I recommend upgrading to a more modern laptop to save yourself even more headaches in the long run as the game will continue to become more demanding on your PC, and your GPU wasn’t built with that in mind.)

Yeah, I'm having similar issues since the Maiden's Rhapsody update. Put off the 6.1 stuff til I could do it with friends at the same time and had no issues before. Went to do the newfound adventure cutscene in Rising Stones and got met with instant client closures and directx errors. Have since managed to get a few steps further but manage about 15 mins before something happens. Fairly new rig (less than a month since new so I doubt hardware issues) and I've reinstalled the game and made sure all drivers are up to date. Have no issues playing any other game.
