Yeah they tested it, but the test environment wasn't close enough to a real server to be a valid test.
A bit like taking a driving test on an empty city street, the results won't be the same as if it's peak hour traffic.
やはり、お前は……笑顔が……イイ
And that's the problem, right there. They tested it with ONE person only bidding in ONE lottery.
Not really a test of anything more than:
'can I bid?'
'yes'
'ok, it works'
...
There was no full phases test.
No beginning to end test.
Because even if there had only been ONE bidder and they ran the actual lottery, even if they shortened the times for the tests, they'd have run afoul of the bug and known about it beforehand.
I'd say it is obvious they didn't do that but the possibility still exists that the bug was introduced by their emergency patch that changed the parameters of who could and who could not bid in lotteries that they released on day 2 of the lottery WHILE it was in progress.
Programming 101 says you don't CHANGE parameters of a program while it's running.

They told you everything about it, they need time and QA and the likes and more to go through this requires more than just being able to handle the planned update, as the statements they put, they told you exactly how many business days they need for each step... and some may take long or be quick as well depending on what kind of obstructions they run into.So according to Yoshi, they will be suspending all purchases or transfers of housing in patch 6.1. Meanwhile, those like myself and my FC have definitely won the bid since we were the only bidders and can't claim our house because of the 0 bug. So why can't they transfer ownership of those houses that they KNOW were won by FC's since they were the only bidders? It isn't that complex really. Especially IF what they claim about one server not speaking to another is the issue.
I for one have not been impressed with the entire Endwalker fiasco. Between lack of content, changes in content that literally dumbed it down, and catering to those people who don't tend to spend money in the game anyway, add in the housing issues and the complete lack of availability for housing to the average person and it is really turning me off the game.
This game was fun for me, then all this nonsense happened with no care for the players that put in for the lottery and waited to win, and when you won you couldn't claim because you lost to Yoshi himself. Because that is what we are joking about in the FC. But to further deny us the home we paid every single penny our FC had, and we are talking millions of gil from each player combined to be able to place as many bids as we did to ensure our winning the home. We won, but in the end...we lost because now everyone is back to work and unable to even claim our home.
And all I hear is crickets chirping from Square Enix in regards to this one issue.
I for one suggest to them that they repair what is broken before adding more content that will be most likely broken to.
Why would you delay ALL content for the sake of housing?? Punish the whole playerbase for a mistake and some salty people? Nah. Wait, get over it and enjoy your house in May or don't and unsub.
