i forget thaliak's resist up, but yeah OP: elements used to be a thing, until they werent as of HW, and then they were again at the end of SB, except they really werent and only came up in side content like BLU and eureka

Ironically, Halone aligned characters were weakest to Fire as Halone's one of the two Ice aspected deities.
