current Ranking system is... pretty flawed for how things set up at the moment.

In 1v1 pvp games, would be totally fine.
In 5v5 preformed team pvp, also completely fine.
In 5v5 solo que only, completely abhorrent.

mainly because in the first 2 you have full control over how you are approching things,
if you are worse than the opponent, you lose, if you are better, you win, simple.
yoyoing is boils down to skill and only a small portion of luck

with the solo que however, you can throw that all out of the window, as you just have only 20% control over your teams performance and have to pray to Rngesus for the rest.

People overthink the whole Ranked. If you start counting how many wins or losses needed for X you are just getting distracted from your current game.

Just play the Job(s) you are comfortable with and focus on the match at hand. Get a bunch of lopsided games against you with mostly same players? Queue down and take a break. Get a nice winstreak going? Keep pushing until it breaks.

Face mostly decent players with 1 or 2 that drag team down? Snipe their Jobs if you can play them.

As long as you don't tilt too much and learn from the games, you are bound to go up eventually. Worrying about Rank instead of playing to win and focusing on self improvement is useless.

OP has a REALLY FAIR complaint and yall just being PVP andies right now.

Yes this system has really big failings
Yes the ranked mode does not feel like a proper ranked mode
Yes this game does not reward skill based play in pvp
Yes it is quite literally a gamble when you try to play ranked with randos
Yes if you reached crystal ranked at all i suggest you go and play the lotto

OP has a REALLY FAIR complaint and yall just being PVP andies right now.

The entire system is broken, for one there is no chat ( so you can't do strategy, can't give out any info, or control in any way what your random team will do, a lot of people don't even know how to use their job ... and there is no way to even try to fix it, because no chat).
The last patch made it very obvious SQ has no people who know how to balance PVP, they nerfed jobs that were unnecessary and buffed jobs in ways that made some ridiculous. The new shatter map is the perfect example for this in how it is made, they made the map in a way that makes one team always be in a pinch, and made the map more PVE oriented overall where 99% of the people just run after crystals and do nothing more, the entire thing is a joke. I can't even call this ranked to begin with, the only thing you are in control is your job, your team most of the time are people who wait for the perfect team to carry them, strategy is non -existent because you have no chat, so most of the times you will lose . The most ridiculous thing is the team PVP tournament that will be on Fanfest .... i laughted at that when i read the news exactly because how CC works in this game. The most interesting thing is, if you played PVP before the reworks, you know there was party PVP where people can go in with randoms and make teams if they want, now you don't have a chose, if you did it solo you were aware it will be harder because randoms are randoms, and no one cried about people who made teams to do it... to begin with , this entire rework they do right now is just bad, more things were removed than put in, be it Frontline, ranked, or the balance... in my opinion pre rework pvp was better, making every job a dps was a mistake to begin with. And the best thing with this rework they just concentrate on CC, and everything else is in the garbage, Wolf Mark reward, we even got Crystals( one more currency that is worthless), and we hit the next season and we still got no new things in either of those. This entire PVP thing is a lost cause at this point, i don't think there is any way it will be better if they don't dedicate people to do things who knows how to actually balance pvp and do the reward system and maps , and don't do something about communication. Ranked in this game is no fair, and doesn't respects your time at all, the entire thing is like a casino, you hit the button and you will win if you had luck, in pre rework PVP if your premade team was good, you dominated everyone... if they were trash, at least you didn't feel like shit, because everyone known they are bad, but even when you had a bad team and you tried and worked for it after some time you became better and can climb at one point, here 99% of the time you have a bad team.

Yes if you reached crystal ranked at all i suggest you go and play the lotto

I guess the regulars at top 100 are incredibly good at lotto, though I don't think most of them have won the Jumbo cactpot.

Sure the system has its faults, the whole thing with Stars like Hearthstone is complete crap and the extended bracket nonsense makes early and mid ranks a horrible experience for newer player. Lack of proper chat and re-using sound effects / no visuals on the chat calls is plain bad design. Extremely slow and unresponsive GMs to reports lets griefers and ragers go free and at time unpunished etc.

Despite everything the climb is still entirely doable, as my newer friends pushed Diamond with some coaching. They did say that the game is incredibly more coinflippy in lower ranks which makes it annoying bs to trawl through and based on the S3 full reset experience I agree to a point. Having to adjust to teams that lack basics or some that have 1 player that performs vastly better or worse than others among all the other variables just favors playing a Job that can hard carry better instead of those that are more reliant on team coordination.

Until SE finally picks up their brain from the floor and just makes the whole Ranked use Crystal Score from the beginning and bit heavier +/- modifiers to compensate, the climbs will remain incredibly streaky and zero sum game.

I killed the crap out of a couple of crystal ranks while climbing back to plat and the weapon glam with glow is meh at best thusly i wont be bothering with it since theres 100% no reason for me to do so while casual CC is infinitely more fun.

I'd tell you to jump in a radioactive pool, but those are toxic enough as they are without you being added to them. You do nothing but insult people on these forums, make assumptions about their skills while ignoring any of their criticisms of a system. Ranked is not a good system as it is, and it could use some changes to promote skill over luck of the match making system. Go ahead and make some more baseless assumptions about peoples skill, or how many friends they have, or their inexperience with PvP, ect.
