    It's been a race to the bottom with casual content.

    Still get a thrill when I see Susano NM one-shot a barely geared tank on the tankbuster because they are too lazy to hit a cooldown. Or they are so close to death taking it raw, the next auto kills them cause of no heal too.

    Stuff like that shouldn't just be for savage. All buttons need to be fair game in all content, even if it's just several volumes less than savage and higher where a cool down rotation and tank swaps are necessary. Shoot even add "healer swaps" again. Ifrit Extreme pioneered that concept.

    Since you're wondering:
    Nope. In my profession, more screen real estate means higher efficiency. It's all about maximizing the bandwidth of the man-machine interface (MMI). When I'm working, one 24" monitor handles communication, another research, the two 32" 4Ks gets covered with documents, and the fifth monitor gets everything else: tracking, scheduling, directories, and so on.

    There are two GPUs because my primary GPU only has four outputs, and on-CPU graphics are, well, on-CPU graphics. I used to have six monitors hooked up, but the 6th one wasn't necessary.

    Put the PC together myself, as I have been doing since about 1994: I was a senior microprocessor design engineer before I moved on to something more lucrative.

    That said, new GPUs are being released soon, so this summer will be upgrade time.
    I'm going to leave this system alone (since it performs flawlessly) and build two new ones (for me and my spouse) specifically for gaming; each will probably have only three monitors -- planning on a 144Hz+ 32" curved 4K and a couple of 24" QHDs.

    MMI efficiency extends to input, too: I game with a Logitech G13 (good thing I bought an extra and put it in storage) and a Roccat Tyon that I've had to repair a couple of times. <Sigh> They just don't make them like that anymore.

    Healers played just fine all the way up to SB with no real issues other than Balance between Healers being poor. WHM was able to balance 2 DoTs and SCH was balancing up to 5 DoTs at their prime but both were more than capable of healing just fine so I fail to see how an overhaul that cuts back on our oversaturated Healing toolkits and expands on our downtime tools would be any different than how it was prior to ShB.

    Nobody is asking for it to be harder to play. People are asking for the main game play loop (i.e. dealing damage) to be improved. You have everything at level 90, so I'll take WHM as my example since it's the "simplest" healer.

    Looking at a random "average" Byregot fight in Aligaia, a WHM casted DPS spells 97 times (85/3/9 Glare/Assize/Dia) and healing spells 11 times. That spread is 90% Damage spells, 10% healing spells.

    Next, I would give you a breakdown of the hotbars of WHM to see if the ability space matched the amount that each type of ability is used, but we know that there are 5 (?) damage abilities ignoring buffs and taking into account that you spend 90% of your time dealing damage and 10% of your time healing, that means that there should be 1 healing spell, so the number of abilities coincide with how much you use those abilities.

    But we know that's not the case. Instead we have:


    AE OGCD Heals: 4
    AE GCD Heals: 4

    ST OGCD Heals: 3
    ST GCD Heals: 4

    Damage Spells: 5

    That's 20 total abilities and while you DPS 90% of the time, only 25% of your abilities are DPS abilities. Why do you need 15 different abilities for something that you do 10% of the time? Why do we need 4 AE OGCDs and 4 AE GCDs? Now, there are some small differences between those abilities, but that "nuance" is, again, in 10% of your game play. The other 90% is 2-1-1-1-1-1-1 with an Assize/Blood Lily when it's ready.

    People aren't asking for the healer role to be more difficult to play. Hell, I feel like the healing portion is overly complex for no good reason for the average player.
