"Let em heal how they want" butcher healers from complex job to press 1 ogcd (2 ogcd if big aoe) and spam 1 button once and once again.
uff. Here I present you the new healer tutorial in FFXIV :

so why do they still have a healer role in this game again?
Its been done. p1s and p2s have been cleared with a group of 8 warriors and 8 gunbreakersAt this point why? We damn near no longer need healers. I'm actually waiting for no healer EX clears and I'm sure there'll be some mad lads who attempt Savage and Ult no healers.
Actually, that would be a great wake up call for Yoshi and Co. to clear their hardest content with no healers and then turn to them saying "What was that about healers needing to play harder content for more engagement?"
Savage Pandaemonium all WARs.
extreme? well hydaelyn and zodiark ex got cleared super fast without healers. I am uncertain on endsinger ex, haven't looked. Not sure I want to tbh
Ucob, the hardest of the ultimates? yup, done without healers.
Uwu would also be cleared without healers were it not for a single mechanic that requires a healer lb3. Which means if they hadn't changed bard's lb from the healer one to its own a few years back, then healers would have 2 ultimates they aren't needed in.
Tea has been solo healed
E4s was also cleared when it was current without healers.
You see there are different players, i like it more the easy way as well as i see the healer most in the healing part. Maybe a solution is to make savage/ultimate dungeon runs for the healer a full time heal job, so no time to do dmg. And if you don't like the 2111 dmg part from the healer in easier dungeons, maybe better do dps in this dungeon.every single ultimate has been solo healed. ucob (widely considered to be the HARDEST ultimate) was done with 8 tanks years ago. UWU would've been cleared without healers years ago but theres one mechanic that needs healer lb3 but has otherwise very little damage.
good for you. for many there isnt enough. should the game not cater to many kinds of players? there are 4 healer jobs. thats a whole lot of design space.
for the 3249023492th time. its not about how much damage healers do, its about what skills there are to press. 2111111111111 isnt fun
Or that would absolutely fail because the scripted nature of the game means downtime will be present always, the healing kit is bland too, the game is not designed for intensive and constant healing, normal mode would be an even worse tutorial than now and the gap between savage and normal would be bigger making it so less players try raiding. You see there are different players, i like it more the easy way as well as i see the healer most in the healing part. You say there are different players, thats true and thats why the game design absolutely fails because instead of having different playstyles for those different players we have only 4 flavours of the same playstyle whose difficulty is tuned only for the bottom of the barrel, a minority even less common than midcore and hardcore players and one that gets smaller the more time players spend playing the game.
If you want to heal only and be the equivalent of a trust do it, its your playstyle and enjoy it but don't hijack an entire role from people that want to do more
Good players can do this, but i am not a good player, i won't get better. When there was not much content and story anymore for me in WoW, i tried FF14 and now i am happy to have back lot of more easy content with a lot of story. I just do normal dungeons, i leave more difficult runs as savage and ultimate for the better players.
So maybe expert, savage and ultimate runs should be more a challenge for heal as well, but this can be done without more dps buttons.
A quick little fix would be to simply make the auto-attacks of the ennemies hit harder.
We are not monkeys that are happy if they are given something - anything - to do. CureCureCureCureCure is as boring as GlareGlareGlareGlareGlare. You see there are different players, i like it more the easy way as well as i see the healer most in the healing part. We want and deserve interesting gameplay that doesn't depend on whether you play with competent players or comatose monkeys. We don't want to be told we need to play the hardest content (that was solo healed or cleared with no healers) in the game to feel engaged.
Healer players have the same rights as tank and DPS players to enjoy the game they pay for without feeling like second class customers. How about people drop their condescending attitude and instead of telling others what they should or should not play, we push the developers to make jobs enjoyable for players of different levels of skill?
I'd be happy if healing was more 50/50 dps and actual healing, with more support style skills in there too.
Sage is almost there as far as I'm concerned, it has a couple more dps skills than the others, but really... that's just back where healers were 2 expansions ago.
Reimplementing AoE DoTs and one additional proc or combo based dps skill would probably be enough to make all the healers more interesting.
