    Astrologian - The Time Mage/Fortuneteller (AKA, the Buffer)

    Trait - Any direct damage or healing the astro causes is repeated X seconds later at a lesser effect
    Trait - The astro's HoT tics increase in speed based on the astro's spell speed
    Trait - The astro's direct heals place a buff on targets that cause a portion of the damage they take to be taken over a period of time instead
    Trait - The astro plays a random card from their deck whenever they cast a targeted spell. AoE spells receive a lesser effect. The astro also has a chance to play the lord or lady card whenever one of the previous cards is played.

    Balance - %damage buff/%damage debuff
    Arrow - small haste effect/slow effect
    Spear - crit and direct hit buff/suffer additional % damage
    Ewer - attacks/spells/abilities heal the user/attacks heal target a small amount
    Spire - reduces CDs by a small amount/applies a DoT
    Bole - % damage mitigation/[honestly couldn’t think of anything right here and I’m tired of spending time on it]
    Lord - deals damage around the Astro and causes a DoT
    Lady - grants the Astro an MP regen

    Gravity - deals large damage in an AoE and applies three random cards to enemies hit. Causes the astro to become nocturnal aspected for a brief period, increased by spell speed.
    Divination - grants all party members X% damage buff and applies three random cards to each ally. Causes the astro to become diurnal aspected for a brief period, increased by spell speed.

    Diurnal effect - adds a second HoT to Benefic and Helios, a HoT to Essential Dignity, increases effectiveness of buffs and non-diurnal HoTs, causes combust to also deal damage over time
    Nocturnal effect - adds a barrier to benefic, helios, and essential dignity, increases duration of all outgoing buffs and HoTs, causes combust to store a small portion of the damage dealt by party members and releases it when the astro enters diurnal aspect.



    Sage - The "Heal by DPSing" healer

    Trait - the sage stores a portion of the damage it deals (to a cap) that adds to the power of its next direct heal, and vice versa
    Trait - whenever the sage deals direct damage with a spell, it places a debuff on the target that causes allies to be healed whenever they deal damage to that target
    Trait - the sage regains MP when Kardia expires based on the amount of healing generated by the sage through Kardia.

    Diagnosis - basic heal that places Kardia on a target for a short period. Kardia duration increased by spell speed. Kardia heals targets affected by a portion of the damage the sage causes. Casting Diagnosis builds addersting gauge, allowing the use of Toxicon.
    Pneuma - Deals AoE damage and heals all allies, increases the healing done by Kardia.
    Prognosis - Partywide heal, applies Kardia to all targets at half the normal duration.
    Kerachole - Grants party members within range % damage mit. Links all party members within range, all members with Kardia have its duration paused, and any Kardia procs they cause share the healing with every linked party member.
    Dosis - basic damage, whenever it deals critical damage it applies a DoT based on the damage dealt. Casting Dosis builds addersgal gauge, allowing the use of Pneuma.
    Toxicon - Deals damage to target and smaller damage around it. Restores X% of the sage’s MP.
    Phlegma - Deals damage to the target and surrounding targets, applying a debuff that causes party members to gain a small barrier equal to a portion of Phlegma’s damage whenever damaging that target.
    Dyskrasia - Deals damage and reduces the damage target deals for a few seconds by X%.

    Seer - The Pet Based Healer (because I took pets from Scholar)

    Trait - pet duration and action speed is boosted by the seer’s spell speed and benefit from the seer’s critical hit rating
    Trait - each active pet boosts the seer’s healing and damage output by X%
    Trait - whenever a pet critical hits, it restores X% MP to the seer and releases a burst of healing around the pet

    Embrace - Briefly summons a random pet to heal target party member and grant an effect based on the pet summoned.
    Unicorn - HoT
    Fairy - Damage buff
    Seraph - Barrier
    Madeen - Buff that heals whenever target deals damage
    Summon Unicorn - Summons a Unicorn at target location.
    Spell 1 - heals target and grants a HoT
    Spell 2 - heals party and grants a HoT
    Spell 3 - emits an aura that heals allies over time within the area and increases
    healing received
    Summon Fairy - Summons a Fairy at target location.
    Spell 1 - heals target and grants a damage buff
    Spell 2 - links to a party member and grants them a damage buff
    Spell 3 - emits an aura that grants nearby party members a haste buff
    Summon Seraph - Summons Seraph at target location.
    Spell 1 - heals target and grants a barrier

    Aetherpact - The seer and all active pets link to either target party member or enemy. If linked to a party member, each link heals the target over the duration. If linked to an enemy, each active link deals damage over the duration.
    Aetherpact - Grants the seer three charges of Aetherpact and restores X% MP. These charges allow the seer to order a pet to use their most powerful ability.
    Unicorn - a large partywide heal around Eos
    Fairy - grants all party members a damage buff
    Seraph - grants all party members a damage mitigation effect that limits incoming damage to a % of their max HP.

    Are you thinking of restricting when gravity can be cast? If so, I don't see why you would want to do that. Secondly, I wouldn't want to track dots AND multiple card events AND multiple possibilities upon when divination could come up on GCD heals that typically I would want to avoid- unless basically your point of view is "I want to force more GCD healing" .

    Basically when it comes to healing, you've focussed on skills that I touch under specific circumstances but there are skills that aren't mentioned that are very well designed such as earthly star, macrocosmos, NS- and some that you mentione.

    Yes I am bringing this back to the front because prior to the live letter, There was an interview that was translated over in the ffxivreddit discord and there was one thing that caught my eye.

    →ヒーラーの方は普段使っていなかったアクションをしっかりとセットしておいたほうがいいと思う
    -> YoshiP thinks it's better for healers to properly set skills that they normally don't use.

    →「このアクション、セットしていなかった!」ということがないようにだけご注意ください
    -> Please be careful not to end up with situations where you go "Oh shit, I didn't set this action in my hotbar!!"
    Now it's going to be the one of the role actions with esuna, rescue or repose because ultimately those actions haven't seen much use, if any, this whole expansion and it make you wonder.

    I was hoping the Criterion dungeons were going to have that sort of gameplay. Like sleeping a hard-hitting add to focus on later or using Bind/Slow on one that wouldn't aggro the tank and focus random party members. But it turned out to be Savage Boss Rush. Maybe the next dungeon...

    It would require raids going back to more Coil type designs. I believe one of the bosses, Melusine, required party members to sleep/bind/heavy her adds so they wouldn't attack players (I believe they 1-shot them). At the same time the healers got a gaze mechanic and had to look at the adds to stone them. Said adds were then used as line of sight safe zones for the raidwide glare mechanic to avoid a wipe. We have something similar now for P8S with the snake adds, but I wouldn't mind seeing a return of the old CC days.

    Behold, they've invented a dungeon where you have to GCD heal with Physick, Cure I, etc. We hope you enjoy the healer gameplay you've been asking for!
