Healers could definitely do with more interesting options in their play but we all know that anyone not using actions given in any content will immediately be kicked after being called a myriad of insults. If you don't touch any harder content than 24 mans, then the inclusion of more DPS buttons or "complexity" doesn't impact you in the slightest. You could literally never press any of those new buttons and still clear the content you want to.
That's the issue here. With a higher skill ceiling people who want more engaging stuff to do on their respective jobs have that option. As things are now, I'm bored to tears spamming Dosis III 500 times in Aglaia while you get to have fun. Doesn't seem fair does it?
What bizarro parallel reality FFXIV are you playing? In the years I've been playing, not once have I ever seen anyone kick a healer for not doing DPS
Even as a former healer main I don't bother to kick people for that in casual content because it literally does not matter

There are entire threads complaining about people not playing the way others see fit. Just in the front page there is a thread of people complaining that other players aren't using LB correctly when they use the DF. It doesn't matter when or who uses the LB in DF content, it will reduce the amount of run time by a few seconds at most.

Complaining, yes. That doesn't mean they're outright kicking them. As someone who PFs Savage. I could fill a book with the number of players spamming pointless Medica IIs and hardly doing half the expected DPS of a healer. And this is in Savage. Go do Algaia right now with a certain abacus up and you'll see how little DPS a lot of healers do in baby content. As long as you aren't AFKing, people largely don't care unless it's Savage. Am I annoyed whenever I get healers in Expert who are doing 2k? Sure. Am I going to kick them? Nope. There are entire threads complaining about people not playing the way others see fit. "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."

Even if it did happen, it would only be in Savage or Ultimate. Two things:
1) Their party, their rules. No one is owed a slot. They can kick you for literally any reason.
2) At that level, if you're not providing a decent amount of DPS as a healer you are actively hindering the group.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

I don't think anyone said that the healers were not using "any actions". A healer can literally spam medica or benefic and then stand emoting in normal content and most likely, no one is going to say anything provided that no one dies. If the healer is not using any DPS actions then the rest of the group will likely be fuming, but they'll likely grit their teeth and pick up the slack, but I expect it would be really exceptional that the healer would be kicked.
Insults are a form of harassment and against the ToS. That is a well-known fact. So if someone is really throwing "a myriad of insults" at someone, that person has a problem. How often do you see it happen? No, seriously. I'd like to know. How many times in the past week have you seen someone calling another player an asshole, dumb, idiotic, lazy or other insults? "I see it all the time" and "we all know it's true" isn't an answer.
And how many times has a player been kicked and for what reason exactly?
Because in casual content nobody cares what you do as long as you're not afk or grief. And if someone really doesn't use any actions and basically just run after the group doing nothing, then they deserve the boot. Not the insults, but the boot.
I've done more than one "0 dps" meme run to see if anyone reacts at all and nobody did. Not in a single run. In most of them I even walked out with several comms, that's much people are bothered by a healer not dpsing. And kicking? The only times I've seen people kick someone is if they
1) afk without saying anything/ dc'd for several minutes
2) made a major mistake and didn't correct them after people asking several times nicely, like not turning on tank stance but constantly pulling all the way to the 1st and sometimes even 2nd boss
3) if they made a huge drama and insulted people
Yes, you read right. The person insulting others got kicked. Not the person they insulted even if they played poorly.
People can be annoyed all the time and that's fine, venting in a forum thread doesn't equal screaming a myriad of insults and then kicking someone.
So this argument of "They could do with more but we all know it wouldn't work out because we all know poor healers would get insulted and kicked" doesn't hold any weight at all.
