It does make me happy knowing Yoshida is putting maximum effort in to show he is making 2.0 a true Final Fantasy game. So far, it is really showing. The new area designs, new monsters, and recently added soundtracks really show that FFXIV is going to be a FF fan's dream world. Now just need to make sure the technical side is all good.
Almost every Final Fantasy uses past references from it's previous games to give that feeling of FF, so just pulling something from a previous title only feels common to me. Hell, FFIX worked 90% off content from old titles and became one of the best entries to the series.
Actually, as cool as the coliseum was in FFXIII-2, I wish this was something implied into FFXIV, could of made a Void Coliseum. Could make it an instanced battle arena where you fight old, nostalgic enemies. Have fights like Ultros, Gilgamesh, Magus Sisters, Four Elemental Fiends from FFIV, and so on. It wouldn't contribute to the story, but be an interesting side quest portion.
Overall, I love you are bringing old into the new SE, I look forward to seeing how 2.0 turns out.![]()
