    Instant portraits in CC

Allegedly, "An instant portrait reflects your current appearance" but it breaks and can't be used for CC if you change jobs or even your glam on the same job. What's the point? Every time I want to play a different job for CC I have to update the portrait manually or it uses the default portrait as if you never made one. Even if you "link" the portraits to a certain gearset, any change in appearance breaks it. If I say, have portrait 1 set to rdm and 2 set to mch, and switched my rdm glam, it'll break anyways. Is this intended? Or just broken and needs patching?

I want to have my instant portrait look one way but have my character look another. This annoys me as well that I can't do that.

Profile portrait might change on the next update,

Especially seeing how it quickly grew into popularity in 6.1 despite some backlash of other features.

Personally I believe they should have the option to both retain the appearance regardless of job change & vice versa to have its appearance change upon switching

Oh yeah, I can confirm that the automatic feature that keeps of the auto-updating your portrait does not, in fact, update your portrait to the new gearset.

You can straight up create a new portrait, link it to your current gear set... Then switch your gearset, when you switch back without any change whatsoever the portrait will SAY is updated but as you load up into CC, you'll have nothing equipped. (I think it updates your portrait too fast, so when the portrait is updated you're still wearing the old gearset and it doesn't set your instant portrait.)

Any tiny change in your gearset, doesn't even have to be anything important, it can be like putting the visor up or switching a weapon and then back up to what it was, hell it can be your melds are different, and the portrait will instantly unlink as soon as you save it. So every time you go into CC, make sure to manually set up your Instant Portrait.

It's finicky. You have a lot of jank to go through to make it stick while you go to enjoy the rest of the game. I basically doublecheck it before I start my CC session for the day.

It's unacceptable, and I hope it requires less fussing with the full version in 6.15.

Double-tap your gear set (assuming you've tied your desired portrait to it). The game seemingly tries to set your portrait before actually changing your appearance, so unless you double-tap the button (thus assigning the portrait again once you've already got your gear set and glamours applied from the first press) it'll detect a mismatch and leave you with the generic default portrait.
