I wouldn’t mind this idea, but overall the forum could be reworked. I’d like it if they improved it and made it more visually appealing. When I first signed up, I wasn’t entirely sure this was the official forums because it looks so… plain.
On the mobile version I can’t even edit my posts, so I end up re-reading it about 7 times before I reply.

You could just always stick it in your sig?
I understand what you want.. but the current implementation is so as to be as quickly loadable as possible. Portraits scaled to that size would have some visibility issues as well I'd think.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I'd rather they focus more on the game itself.
They've already pushed content to every 4 months instead of 3.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

I still hope they spent their resources elsewhere. The update to the mog station was bad enough. It may now look more Smartphone and modern, but that merely means everything takes more clicks, more scrolling, more hunting around for what you want to look at and in general is just annoying. The forum is simple and functional. The mog station now is very annoying, even on smartphone.
Can't be that hard, so yes!
It totally depends on how our current picture is produced, and whether or not the new Adventure Portraits are replicated in the Lodestone or not.
Right now, the Portraits are in-game only, incorporate a lot more data to transfer out of the game, and, as some people have mentioned, are not under the control of Square Enix as far as content. Adding to that, the customization possible, and the relative size of the current picture, make it unlikely that a 1-to-1 exchange would be pleasant enough when viewing it on the forums.

Don't forget there are people who claim you are attacking or oppressing them simply by not agreeing with them, no matter how politely you do it.
