Every race with animal ears/horns except hrothgar's ears aren't actually attached to the head, they float a bit above it. That is probably why. The more you know.

Spotted the normie.

I have three Miqo'te characters and a Viera. I have no issue with the placement of Miqo'te ears – as I said in my opening post, they still seem natural to me despite being placed differently to human ears. But Viera ears look wrong to me (and apparently to a lot of other people in this thread too). I said all this already.

Just because some anime characters place it one way doesn't mean it looks right for them either, and it certainly doesn't look right here. 2D can be more forgiving, if nothing else.
