To be clear, this is not a complaint against FFXIV as such, because they're replicating a race design from a previous game, but it's something that mildly bothers me and I'm wondering if other people feel the same.

Viera ears seem oddly disconnected from being ears, if that makes sense. They seem too high up, or too forward on the head, or something. Maybe because they end up out of shot in a close-up of the character's face? Or they're just generally too far away from where ears should be.

It's a disconnect I've never felt with Miqo'te – on the contrary I've thought in the past that despite being positioned differently to human ears they still seem a natural part of the character's body.

It's not something I expect to be changed, but I just wanted to say it.
