    Compromised account | Question regarding recovery of stolen items/gil

    Hello,

    I got my account restored and unsuspended from being compromised. I'm now in the recovery stage. I've filled out the form and began the data recovery process. I've heard that this will take a while and that any progress after the date of when it account was compromised will be invalid/lost. Does anyone know how long I typically have to wait?

    I know achievements and items will be lost but what are some things that I can do in-game that won't be affected by the rollback?

    For example, can I still level up my submarines in the FC? Can I make gil on the side and send that gil to my friend or will those be gone also?

    Another thing is, support told me that they can't restore items or gil from the free company chest, however, the gil that was stolen from me was initially in my possession (with my character and my retainer). When my account was compromised, the person who took my account transferred all my gil to an alt they made using the FC chest. Would this gil still be recoverable since it was originally in my possession?

    All you can do is wait, chat, watch cutscenes ... everything else will be lost. If you had all Gil on your Char and in a Retainer, you will get it back.

    Subs are tied to the FC, not you. So those will level, however the spoils you gather from them into your inventory will be lost. You might be able to sell some, and put that gil into the FC chest though.

    What will be lost is anything related to you that you gather from this point, achieves, minions, mounts, clears, gil in your wallet, gear.

    Thank you for the reply. So if anything, I can play the game and if I get rare tradable drops I can just put those in an FC chest. Same goes for gil. That's good to hear at least. I can't progress any levels which sucks but hopefully the game data recovery doesn't take 2 months to complete.

    I'm curious as well, my husbands account is in the recovery process after his account was compromised. How is it legal for them to continue to charge us subscription fees while they take their time to reinstate? The account is completely unplayable and they are still charging us. How is that allowed? We cant even log into the account to stop the payments...We are at a loss, as its nearly impossible to even get in contact with anyone in customer support, and when we finally do, they just say "We cant help you, we will escalate, and we cant give you any idea how long this will take"...how is this ethical business practice?
