I politely went to their server and actually had a decent conversation with them and they realized they never put Drill on their bar. Fifteen minutes later they were back in ranked queue and doubled their damage...to 200k.

Not going to lie this isn't the redeeming story it's (possibly?) painted out to be. This is like super red flag behavior imo.

I'm in the same boat as OP. I didn't play CC PvP the first few days, only started last weekend. Was stuck in bronze for 4 days. One win, one loss, two wins, some losses and so on and so forth. Until I decided to eff it and not play what I would love to play but switched to WHM. It's really sad. Silver now but really lost the motivation to continue and so I'm just gonna derp my way through the season pass for crystal trophies in casual mode and then let PvP rest until next season.

I have been messing with CC myself recently. Which is a surprise since I don't care for pvp to begin with. I keep myself in casual mode to avoid holding anyone back in rankings by me not playing very well since I'm not playing pvp seriously at all.

There are bad players even in higher ranks, i have seen terrible plat players and awesome bronze. The matchmaking system is trash and team comp to random doesn't help.
My JP mate switched to sam had 15 match winning streak and got to crystal after less than 50 games so imagine the noobs who got carried! With this system you could be best in world in game but due to bad luck be stuck in bronze.

You are right. Even switching to White Mage doesn't guarantee automatic wins. There is only so much one player can do when the team decides to spread out and go chase their respective counter parts, lol. Or, charge in 1v5. It's actually hilarious. I don't claim to be very good at PvP; I make mistakes like everyone and I'm also quite new to it all but I think I can already say that the playstyle of some folks defies all basic logic. So everyone stuck in bronze - you might not actually be bad but you definitely had bad luck with your team mates.

They were saying white mage because it has an easily abusable bug that is ungodly OP
other than that getting into gold is pretty much a crapshoot since you can't control who's on your team

probably got to silver-1 9 or 10 times then giant string of teams of what I could only describe as lemmings marching to their doom. Gold ain't much better either probably because it's like a 1 in 5 chance of just boosting someone that has no business there accidentally

Yeah, that reason is the matchmaking system is trash, the ranking system is trash, and luck is a major factor as to what rank you end up in.

Its pretty straight forward. Dive in, debuff the enemy and do your melee combo, dive out and do some magic and stay away till you can do your combo again. Shift to white balance if you or your team needs some extra support in increased healing and what not.
