Why is there only one character restore of the life of an account?

Gonna be honest I'd always assumed it was just called one time restoration more to deter people using it every few months..

But I only based that on my experience in FFXI which had the same policy. But I used that "One Time Restore" maybe 4 times in the 10 years I played. (Bloody patriot protectors arrow and unlimited shot mistakes)

Kinda shocking if there so strict on it here. I mean once per expansion wouldn't be broken.

If you use that one time one time restore and you get hacked and yes you can get hacked even with a one time password on your account be far harder what will you do then?

I just want to speak to this because this is personally relevant. I've actually deleted and had my main restored twice. Due to the extenuating circumstances involved in the deletions, SE customer support waived their once-per-account rule to allow for a second restoration. They certainly don't handle it robotically -- a real human does does read your request, and your submitted ticket history, when they make the decision whether or not to restore past the first incident.
