Why is there only one character restore of the life of an account?

I put in a ticket both in game and online to restore a alt character.

Both has the same response yesterday and today (on my birthday no less) I got the same response because I used my last and only restore over 3 years ago.

We have reviewed the information you have provided us. Unfortunately, we were unable to restore data for this particular character, since it appears that you have already used your one-time character reactivation for this account. I have been here since 1.0 and been a loyal player of ffxiv through thick and thin yet even though they final put a system in place to slowly remove bad mark from bans for chat or other abuse they still do not help you if you lose a deleted character more than once ever.

Anyone else share my frustration or am I am just a fool for thinking my request of having another restore every 6-12 month (to avoid abuse) is too much?

It's to make people be more careful about deleting items or characters. They can't be spending their whole day restoring them for the same careless people so they ask them to decide if it's really that important that they would use a one-time restore on it.

Why did you delete these character/s? There is a 30 second delay/countdown when you delete a character. it's not like you can do it by accident.

I wouldn't mind one every 2-3 years not cumulative. I mean, at the end of the day deleting a character is an active choice and there is no reason why they would have to deal with it more than one time.

Then again bad things happen you could have been depressed or someone got his hand on your account and delete you character for the lulz because some peoples can be absolute morons.

It would be good to have more than one, maybe one each 5 years.

What made you delete the character a second time?

It's strange tbh. Many games let you restore characters much more frequently. It's in the best interest of a company to have you back using their product. The item restoration in particular is extremely strict, iirc WoW let you restore items once a month or so and even in multiple.

I suspect it's a combination of spaghetti code and not wanting to assign any staff to it. Discouraging people from being careless makes sense, but that doesn't mean you can't set sensible limits instead of once in forever.

In my case I should of name changed or transferred the alt elsewhere but nope I did the emotional stupid thing and got punished for it even if my last restore was what 3 years prior.

It still stands I think it madness that there is not a recharge maybe after a set period of time to avoid abuse of the system for another restore, right now as it stands the system is way too stick, every other mmo or online game wit characters I have ever played have a recharge system so not to have character restored often from continued bad judgement call on the players side.

If you use that one time one time restore and you get hacked and yes you can get hacked even with a one time password on your account be far harder what will you do then?

What would you do when you have no restores available?

Will you take the response from SE that they can not do anything for you since you already use your one time restore and accept that you would have to start over from the very begging or quit all together?

I might think too much into it, but maybe based in cultural differences as well.
Iirc I've heard that people in Japan (not everyone ofc) take good care of their belongings and are mindful when deciding on getting rid of something.
People in the west, not so much, from personal experience.

Ah, stalking or an e-relationship gone wrong?

There are a lot of system limitations in the stalking side. Like not being able to remove friends on both sides, and also soon to be worse as the names will exist over server transfers as the region wide transfer happens.

You have all my sympathy then, i did delete a few alt on wow to cut brigdes and stop being reminded of someone i broke up with, it worked a little but i can understand why you would regret this.

The best i can tell you then is to go to the feedback subforum and try to get support from other player on this topic.

EDIT : Just saw that you did yesterday. The argumentation is different though.
