I read a lot of complaining about the Matchmaking but chalk it up to whiny babies with “I pay $$$ so I should win whenever I want”
I work full time, two jobs, and a college student.
I’ve played ~113 games, won 97/113 and am currently Diamond 4 on a win streak.
I’ve had bad games, teams uncoordinated, disconnects, played early morning, long nights.
I’ve used every job in ranked, and each one has a good sense of keeping its identity.
I read a lot of “whaaa whaaa my job is bad because X reasons” well, class identity is important, if all healers did the same, all dps did the same, and tanks did the same then you’d have same old same old boring and bland teams.
Keeping the WHM as the core healing powerhouse with big boom makes sense, that’s what it’s job is supposed to be.
Keeping Summoner master of dots and aoe makes sense for its identity, black mage using ice and fire to freeze or burn makes sense, while some numbers could be tuned absolutely they function as intended and largely represent who and what they are.
Imagine a warrior slinging spells and using fire magic?! Wouldn’t work.
Samurai is supposed to be that one perfect hit K.O for cris sakes there is a f-info trailer with that emphasis (shadow bringers)
Composition matters, it matters in real life in matters here, you wouldn’t bring 4’2 midgets to a basketball game, you’d bring scouted out, trained, and proven different talent to make a composition, some players are better than others that’s the point of picking and choosing.
Yes, some jobs will always be picked because of their talents and powers, just like some people will always be picked because of their physical attributes or talents yet we don’t bitch about football or baseball.
All in all, it does need work but it’s a solid focus, I’m looking forward to my last climb to Crystal.
