The Ranking system has made me just about quit Ranked altogether

There is no worse feel than spending all day progressing through the obnoxiously larger rank levels of Platinum and up only to lose all your progress due to a bad streak. I have no control over who I am grouped with or against. Even were I the best player in the world, I can't carry a team that either isn't trying, isn't focusing on anyone, isn't using their defensives, and is just altogether playing badly.

There is no healthy way to grind to Crystal. You MUST devout absurd amounts of your own free time every single day if you want to get there within the forseeable future. And even then, you can spend an entire day and just be one win away from ranking up, only to suffer a horrid losing streak that takes you all the way back down, invalidating your entire day's worth of time and effort.

Some people have said "well we can't just make your progress permanent else we'd have so many people reaching Crystal", to which I respond: So what? What is your point? Why is that a problem? Take away the garbage rank decay, and people still need to actually win to get to Crystal. Due to the 5 v 5 format, there is no way a person could ever be carried, so if they manage to reach Crystal it's a testament to their own capacity as a player. Obviously the RNG factor is still there, but at least you still aren't going to get far if you're actually a terrible player.

This a garbage, indefensible system that encourages extremely unhealthy playtime to stand a chance to rank all the way up. There is no logical reason for this besides padding sub time. This is garbage, it adds nothing of value to the experience in fact it detracts from it, it doesn't make it harder, it just makes it a thousand times more frustrating and luck-based whether you actually made progress today or had several hours of your time and effort completely invalidated. It doesn't make it more fun, it doesn't make it more rewarding, it is a pure waste of time and absolutely nothing else.

This is actually making me hate this new PvP mode. I no longer feel any sense of enjoyment from this. Even if I get past Platinum all the way to Crystal I won't be like "OMG I DID IT YAY" I'll be more like "Thank god this crap is finally over". Just take away the rank decay and make our progress permanent. This is a complete and utter waste of time and severely detracts from any enjoyment of the experience.

It sounds like they should stop making thinly-veiled time-wasting systems to artificially pad out sub times at the expense of the player's own enjoyment and actually make the mode fun and not a massive-time sink dependant heavily on RNG. Because that's all this is and pretending otherwise is disingenuous.

I mean im in kinda the same boat, except i have years of ranked LoL behind me so my mental is alot more tolerant probably. I dont play ranked for fun, i play ranked to win. Every game is treated like theres someone with a gun behind me saying you die if you lose. Thats me in any game honestly. The minute you put "ranked" in something competitive it stops being a for fun activity and becomes maximum tryhard.

a) you make achieving crystal feel absolutely meaningless to alot of people as anyone can get there or
b) you make some people upset because they for whatever reason are unable to climb to that rank.

If you think that group a in this scenario are dumb, that's your prerogative. But as someone who belongs to group a while enjoying my stay in gold ranking at the moment I can say that I would not be playing in such a system as you suggest.
I suggest you find something else to enjoy in the game for a while (or find another game!) if you're feeling that bad about it right now. I'm pretty sure I could never make it to crystal, but I think it's cool there are people who can

Those don't increase my rank at all those are just for currency used for certain rewards. There is no way to rank up besides being good and praying you don't get a bad team makeup and lose whatever progress you just made that day.

That is legitimately dumb though. Why does that matter? A bad player isn't hitting Crystal because 4 other people can't carry 1 dead weight against 5 actually competent players. This current system just artificially gates people from ranking up who should have if not for bad luck. If I am a good player, and I won, and made progress, I should not lose that progress. There is no defense for this at all. Progress should be permanent, if I spend all day progressing through the rank only to lose due to a bad streak thanks to teammates who are just bad or not trying, than that just maens I wasted my time. It feels bad. It does not feel good. When I almost hit Diamond only to lose several games in a row and rank all the way back down to the bottom, I do not think to myself "Wow this is fun, I sure enjoyed losing all this progress!". No I get extremely tilted and want to alt F4. It does not make my experience better, it actually reduces my enjoyment of the game. I would significantly enjoy this game more if it was not this way.

There is no defense for this system. The one and only reason it exists is to artificially pad sub time at the expense of the player's enjoyment. Stop. Defending. It.
