I mean they are being conservative. Once they have verified the issue is fixed they could change it instantly. All this post is doing is making assumptions and drumming up hysteria where it may not even be extended that long.

They are a group that has created numerous FC's with numerous service accounts in order to buy out all the FC plots in Ward 2 of every server and every location. They are planning to use them to generate gil via airships and submersibles. Each house can generate about 400k per day. I assume they are doing this for gil selling RMT

Fortunately they have named all their FC's in each ward with the same tag so hopefully square can do something about it. I believe their main FC is 'Billionaire Boys'

Alts can get into the lottery yes but there's only one winner and only one alt can own a personnel while the main get the FC house. Don't be so alarmist, alts are not a problem gold sellers and clones are.

Alts are absolutely a problem, because if someone with say eight characters was in a lottery with 16 people, that's a 50/50 chance to win. Rich people with alts (especially omni crafters) might be tempted to abuse the lottery system. They absolutely should be prevented from doing so. There is nothing okay about this.

I dont know where people are thinking that the bugs in housing were going to be fixed today? On 4/18 (2 days ago) they said it would take a minimum of 4-6 WORKING days to find and fix the cause, and THEN to test fixes. The maintenance notice this morning was quite clear that they were taking residential offline to ensure the lottery didn't go back into effect. 9 days is the number that makes sense here, since a standard lottery period is 9 days (5 for bidding, plus 4 for pick-up). If we are lucky, it gets fixed before the weekend. Resulting in a very long pick-up period (that devs may or may not shorten). If it doesn't get fixed until Monday or Tuesday (which is a very likely possibility), then housing will need to be claimed by 7:59 AM PT on Friday, which is just 3-4 days to claim the property.

And botting for housing is still going to be much harder. Personal housing sellers are dead in the water, unless the bots create and sell the service account. Those selling their FC have to have the FC for at least 30 days before they can even bid for a house, then they need to win a house. And if they happen to have a buyer lined up in advance, they can transfer the FC ownership in a shorter period, but they have to be in the FC for at least 30 days before they can become FC master or a rank that can even purchase a house. Most bots are going to be looking at a minimum of a 60 day turn-around. Or longer.

While they would bump up the chance to win, if they are all bidding on 1 singular house thats only 1 house out of the system, and if the alts didn't already have houses then they aren't covered by the grandfathering and that lone house would take up one of their 1 personal/1 fc lead per world.

I know one botter on my server who used to get it into it with my old FC and my FC hated him because he used to give out gold to random new players.

I can understanding hating him for being a botter.... but you guys SERIOUSLY hate him because hes being charitable? You do realize just how bad that makes YOU look right? Pretty scummy to target someone for being generous....

Back on topic, always felt they need to limit housing to one per account and shared with all characters on that account (Having a FC house an exception to the 1 house rule). Sure people can make a second account, I kinda have no problem with that as they are funding the game either way.
I feel like lately SE is starting to fall out of touch with the player base, some of the decisions they are making defy logic...... Sadly... taking time to find and fix this bug.... is not one of those times.

May be defending them, but make no mistake, I want my house too! and my plot im after is locked behind the FC only rule, my FC house is the ONLY house on the entire ward lol. There weren't even any bids from other FC's on plots there during round 1.

That house would not have been available before the First lottery started, and therefore it won't be available to bid until the 2nd lottery starts. Which will be approximately 4/29.

RMT resellers or airship bots.
They should straight up get banned for negatively impacting the game for other players.
